I'm a great caregiver because I have worked with so many different people I am able to adapt to their individual needs. I have an outgoing personality and I enjoy making people feel special. I started caregiving when I was young. I have one uncle who was born with epilepsy and he's mentally handicapped. I enjoy the moments of joy I can share with my clients and the peace of mind that I can bring their loved ones. I take lots of pictures of our outings and smiles to share with loved ones. When working with my last client I streamlined the time card process and I also found misuse of the clients debit card by one of the other employees. I also started a few different procedures for everyone to fallow so we could be more consistent with his care. I started all of these while working closely with Bessie and she said I was a God send to her family and she was so grateful I was there for her father.

I work with a 27 year old man with cerebral palsy, he was non verbal and couldn't walk unassisted. Job responsibilities included taking him out into the community daily, feeding him meals, playing with him, talking with him, and assisting with toileting, bathing, dressing, daily care logs and daily goals, exercise, and being able to redirect emotional loops and recognizing his tells. Often times he would get upset and sometimes violent and I would have to entertain, redirect, or diffuse the situation.
