Clerical duties include patient check-in upon arrival at the clinic; then check patient out at the conclusion of their visit and schedule future appointments as necessary; collect and post payments; consolidate and process weekly deposits to include delivery to the financial institution; update medical software database with patient demographics and other confidential information; answer multi-line phone and provide information without violating HIPPA guidelines without an authorization, schedule an initial appointment, or redirect calls as necessary; process incoming documents from various sources such as the fax machine, delivery services, and U.S. postal service and distribute to appropriate staff personnel; complete other duties as necessary such as restock examination rooms and patient restrooms with necessary medical supplies such as wipes and specimen cups; and monitor waiting area to make sure that it is kept in a orderly manner. Work up patients' as needed(obtain vital signs and initial complaint.) Draw labs and run urinalysis per doctor or nurse practitioners' order. Assist nurse practitioners' and doctor as necessary( standing in as chaperone.)
