I'm also experienced in meeting their activities of daily living like shaving, and grooming, shower, dressing, helping with feeding, driving them to and from doctors offices for appointments etc

Hello! My name is Shania, like the famous country singer Ms Twain! I'm a dog mom, a college student studying criminal justice and exploring the healthcare field. Does anyone needs or know someone who needs a personal caregiver? Im newly certified BUT have 2 years and a half experience and looking to switch to in home care for more flexibility since I'll be going back to school soon for phlebotomy next. I currently work at a hospital as a healthcare technician in the Emergency Department. I'm CPR/BLS certified. I am a mandatory reporter for both adult and child abuse/ neglect. I'm fully vaccinated for COVID as well as the Flu shot. I can help out with mostly about anything. Preparing food, cleaning/housekeeping, helping with medication, personal cares, exercising or even a championship. I can even help with pets such as dog and cats if we'll behaved. I also have full coverage insurance so I can assist with driving and errand runs with no issues. I can provide certain documents for all of these things and certifications if needed. I became a caregiver because I have always has an urge for helping people who truly need it the most, i am open, friendly, caring, kind, and that's what makes me a great caregiver. I enjoy being able to bring joy and happiness into their lives, being able to listen to their stories, and most of all knowing i am someone who they can trust and depend upon when necessary.

A personality trait that has helped me become a great caregiver is patience. As a young teen I got to see caregiving first hand. My mother (a nurse ) , care for my great aunt and great grandmother. Watching her care for them and the manny ways they embraced her is the very reason I love what I do ! Personally the thing that I enjoy most about caregiving is the companionship and wonderful stories. Meeting new people and seeing life from their point of view . I love the fact that I'm helping someone continue to live life independently no matter the circumstances. One personal achievement I am proud of is that I recently decided to go back to school online to further my education. I'd say it's going pretty great

Over the years I have supported my husband in his various church ministries. Supporting him and raising our 5 children did not allow me to have a paying job, but it has given me many opportunities to help people in all different situations. I have worked with many disabled and elderly folk. We cared for an elderly man in our home for a short time and I was with him at his death. I have helped in homes with cleaning, cooking, physical hygiene, shopping, laundry, and companionship as well as comforting the dying. I was involved with the care of my own father until his passing two years ago. My mother may soon need my care as well. Years ago, I was trained as a CNA; however, this was before the days of certification. I worked for a couple years in a nursing home and then later in a home for the developmentally disabled. It was very rewarding work, and I was able to use the experience over the years to help and encourage people in our own churches. My husband is currently unemployed, but I still have a desire to find work that would allow me to help people in personal ways. At present I am on a waiting list to take the training to become a certified nursing assistant. I am pleasant, patient, compassionate, empathetic, hard working and honest. I have great respect for the wisdom and experience of the elderly. I try to help them have as much independence and dignity as possible. I enjoy cooking, crafting, sewing and 14 grandchildren!

I am a very outgoing and loving person. Caring for people comes 2nd nature for me. When my grandmother got ill i moved back to take care of her because she refused to go to a nursing home. That experience really made me want to get into becoming a caregiver. The fulfillment of just knowing i am helping people to be able to stay in their homes is an awesome feeling, and knowing that they are being taking care of by a person who really care and will treat them as her own family. I have 2 sons so bathing or changing another person is no biggie to me. I would be happy to help anyone old or young no matter the circumstances.
