About Jessica

I have always enjoyed being around my elders. I would spend time with my grandparents on both my mother and father side as often as I could. I began volunteering at a nursing home near my house and would go play games and paint the ladies nails and just spend time with the clients. I like hearing the stories about their pasts and being able to really see how much things have changed. I enjoy how much they value and appreciate the little things in life and simplicity. I am proud that I have such strong relationships with many assisted living homes and elderly clients. I enjoy cooking, cleaning and getting to know people. I am very good at knowing when to engage in conversation with a client or allow them their space and time. I am also wonderful at finding what a client loves most whether it is reading, puzzles, cooking, scrapbooking, ect and focusing my time and effort on helping them engage in that activity. I love offering my help and support to those in need and enjoy the relationships I have built and continue to build with my elders within this community.

Home Instead Senior Care

I travel to peoples homes and provide them with care. Often I find myself in a senior care home spending one on one time looking over someone whom may be a fall risk or someone whom just needs a little help around the house. My job ranged anywhere from cooking and cleaning to simply providing companionship and transportation.

I was a caregiver at an assisted living home for 3 years and currently still work there on occation when they need me. My job entailed cleaning, (laundry, dishes, making beds, ect), assisting with dressing, bathing and toiletry, medication reminders, and meal preparation. Along with this also was me spending time with the clients building relationships through games and socializing. Often we would go outside and just spend time talking and getting to know one another better.
