About Rory

I am a licensed CNA with over 15 year's experience as both an hourly and an in-home 24 hour caregiver. I have many year's experience in other related healthcare fields as well and am also a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have Nurse Delegation certification, BLS/HCP CPR and First Aid cards, as well as Mental Health certification. The last 2 1/2 years I've worked with predominantly one client providing care for all the activities of daily living (including transportation) and companionship as well as acting as a healthcare advocate. I've also spent 4 years with an Alzheimer's client providing in home care including physical therapy assistance and hospice. I have provided care for clients with multiple health concerns including hypertension, stenosis, heart disease, depression, paralysis, digestive disorders, and cancer. I also worked during my training in a nursing home. As a side note, I have learned tremendously for 5 years the many aspects of case management acting as a POA and Healthcare Representative/Advocate/Case Manager for a family member and other clients so am able to provide those kind of services as well if needed. I previously worked as a Veterinary Technician for 16 years and in a prior position provided at home medical care for my client's pet as well. I can also provide Clerical Support as in prior positions I reviewed/maintained medical and other records, facility admission/release forms and contracts, mental health assessments, legal documents, and auto and homeowner's insurance policies. Also handled all phone/mail communications and appointments. Thank you so much for your time in reviewing my profile and I look forward to seeing how I might help with your caregiving needs. R. Siegel, CNA, LVT Please note that my hourly rate varies depending on the position. Normally I have a 4 hour minimum for short shifts, but can sometimes agree to 3 hours depending on location.

It is my privilege to write a letter of recommendation for Rory Siegel. Rory was my mother's caregiver starting February 27, 2018 until July 28, 2020 when we had to admit Mom to an Adult Family Home under hospice care. Rory was a compassionate companion and caretaker over that time, remains a friend to us all, and I would rehire her if the situation allowed. Rory is cheerful and energetic, always managing the complicated schedule of doctor's appointments, social outings and medications. She remained calm, but persistent in dealing with my strong-willed mother putting safety and well-being as the first priority. I relied heavily on Rory's attention to detail when it came to managing everything from prescriptions and appointments to dealing with medical insurance issues. She was a strong advocate for my mother both in bringing up new concerns to our family and the doctors, as well as in the appointments themselves making sure Mom's needs were met. My mother struggled with needing assistance and not being able to control her own life. Rory was incredibly sensitive to this and was willing to work with my mom to give her as much control as she was able to take on. Rory maintained day to day organization of my mother's home and coordinated her care between all the caregivers. Rory was able to provide the invaluable gift of keeping mom comfortable and safe for as long as it was possible. If you need any further information, feel free to call me at 206.778.3595. I have compassion and empathy for my clientele. I became a caregiver after I came to this country a while ago and I immediately loved it. I like caregiving, because I get to make a difference in someone's life by the end of the day. Personal achievement is the friendship that I have with the clients and their families.
