I helped take care of my parents and parents in law until their deaths. I have also helped many other over the years with everything from cooking, cleaning, transportation to appointments and grocery shopping. Toileting, assisting with mobility, bathing, medicatiom reminders, and more. I like to take the time to get to know my elders and to understand what they like, dislike, and to make life as comfortable for them as I am able. I understand that some have difficulties with accepting help and will give them as much independence as is safe and allowable according to their specific limitation and needs. I am there to help not take over and to assist and protect to the best of my abilities.

I am a CNA based out of Astoria, Oregon looking to be a meaningful caregiver as I finish my nursing degree this spring. I am looking for a more flexible schedule as I am awaiting preceptorship placement for Jan-March, and will not know that schedule until beginning of January most likely.

When my mother was passing from cancer, I watched her care team take such great care of her. I was deeply touched by that kindness and I realized that is what I wanted to do. I wanted to go to work and help people to feel safe, comfortable, and to help brighten their day. I have loved every minute of my career thus far, even the rough days. It is where my heart truly is.
