I became a caregiver because I love helping people, I love to see them accomplish the little things that the rest of us take for granted. I love encouraging the people I help to accomplish as much independence as possible. To lead as close to a normal life as they can and for them to be proud of their self in those accomplishments! A personal achievement I'm proud of....completing my 2 years of prerequisites and half of an RN program, even though I didn't finish, I'm proud that I went as far as I did before deciding to withdraw. I've worked in many different aspects of the medical field, the latest was Oncology, I've done Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Acute care, Physical Therapy and Long Term Care. I believe that healthcare should have a multifaceted approach, we are complex human beings and our care should cover all the bases.
