I started as a caregiver my first quarter of college. I had never been in the healthcare field and I must admit that when I did get hired as a caregiver, i thought to myself 'what am i getting into?' Like any other job i was nervous at first, i had never done this and would i be able to take care of another human? i didn't think i would make it a month! How wrong I was! Soon after starting, i began to realize this was more than just a paycheck, I went to work and came home feeling good because i could help people, make them laugh with my goofiness, take them out to see new places even if it was close to their home. The fact that i could encourage people to come out and enjoy life was an amazing feeling! And although i do not plan on doing this for the rest of my life, it is nice to feel that while i am doing it, i can help influence people to live happy and comfortable lives with my assistance.
