My mother inspired me to become a caregiver/cna. She is an LPN and has showed me almost everything that I know. I have taken care of my grandmother for 6 years, from the ages of 12 to 18 until I no longer had the resources to give her the proper care that she needed. I also assisted my grandfather for 3 years who unfortunately lost his battle to lung cancer. I love being a caregiver because I enjoy helping others when they can no longer do for themselves. I know that eventually I will need help with daily activities once I become of age, and knowing that I am helping others and relieving their stress and pain is what I live for every day. I am proud to say that I am taking the next step in my career by attending school to become an RN. I have a year and a half left until I graduate. It is not easy but it is so exciting, to know that I am being given up-to-date information and resources to further help those that are sick, injured, and hurt. I am 20 years old with a beautiful baby boy. He is my motivation in life and I want to be that role model that he can look up to, the same way my mother inspired me. I maintain a 3.5 GPA in my nursing program. I am a very reliable, trustworthy, hard-working, patient, and understanding person. I have not run a background check, but I do have my fingerprint clearance card that confirms that I have a clean background, CPR/First Aid, BLS certification, and TB test.
