Shelter Wellness and Custodial/Laundry Assistant Politely welcome, greet and assist all clients and visitors with needs, answer phones, and provide routine information or direct individuals to the appropriate person. Communicate relevant information accurately and timely to appropriate staff; ensure record keeping is consistent with established requirements. Enter client information into Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) when a client enters shelter. Provide light janitorial services such as collecting and disposing of trash; cleaning and disinfecting rooms, bathrooms and common areas; and vacuuming/sweeping as necessary. Assist nursing staff as necessary. Inventory supplies used in custodial and laundry duties. Collect and bring used laundry items to the laundry for cleaning by placing in a laundry cart and pushing cart to and from laundry area/or designated facility. Sort laundry items and wash laundry by operating laundry machines. Fold, sort, count, mark, stack, pack and deliver finished laundry by placing in a laundry cart and pushing cart to resident areas. Routinely clean and disinfect laundry areas and equipment and common areas. Assist with the distribution of food, drinks, and snacks within the shelter. Assist with security as necessary to ensure no improper conduct or unauthorized persons are inside facility and/or property. Wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, gowns, mask as directed. Housekeeping
