Maintain my CPR certification on an annual basis, not exceed renewal every 24 months. Attend in-service and training meetings. Maintain effective communication with residents, residents families, employees and supervisors. Implementation o programming goals and objectives for each resident including completion of training objectives applicable to each shift, monitoring the behavior of the residents and implementing behavior plans and outlined in the Residents program. Supervise the activities of daily living (ADL's) of the residents, including medication passes, Tours and classes and provide prompts for refinement of skills for targeted training ( formal or informal). Notify House Manager of QMRP regarding changes in residence behavior or program need or request. Notify the RN but changes in the health status or presence of signs or symptoms of illness. Report repairs to maintenance man in house manager. Conduct fire drills and tornado drills as applicable.

I have always been a caregiver, though it's always been with children, I decided to try a part-time job during the summer taking care of seniors and I absolutely fell in love. I enjoy helping others, becoming part of families, hearing stories of times past, there is just so much seniors can offer and I enjoy learning from them. My grandparents were my world, so many things I love doing I got from them. From gardening, going on adventures, and story time. Since I've switched from children to seniors I've been asked so many times how? How could I switch like that? To me all I did was trade the size. Littles and seniors have so much in common and we have so much to learn from both. I'm an energetic person, I don't sit still very well for too long, but I do understand that quiet\nap time is sometimes necessary. Something I'm very proud of ( other than being a mother and now a grandmother) is making it through college. I attended later in life with my older daughter's while having another daughter in that later part of my life. It's an accomplishment I don't think I could have done without the support of my girls and family. I don't have any direct schooling in caring for seniors but I have years of experience and it's something I'm very passionate about.
