I am an Extremely capable and compassionate individual with extensive experience in elderly care giving. Enthusiastic to get a caregiver position at a private household utilizing qualifications and care giving skills to provide the client with the best comfort and safety. I have specialized skills in care for clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, diabetes, stroke, cancer, arthritis, incontinence, full body paralysis, amputee's.. I even provide physical therapy (not licensed but learned)

I'm Margaret Holmes, a certified CNA with more than 5 years of experience in caring for patients with Alzheimer / Dementia, Hospice and Colostomy. I also have experience in caring for patients with breathing problem, Hoyer lifts / Gait belts, special meal preparation etc. Above all, I'm very friendly and easy going. After taking care of my mum who had dementia for nearly two years, I found out that I have a talent in caring for old people; so decide to help other old people who had problem like my mum. What i like most about being a Caregiver is that I can help prolong people's life by giving them appropriate and timely care they require. One of my personal achievements I would never forget is the care I gave to one of my patients He had dementia/Alzheimer and other critical illness. The doctors told him that he wont last more than one month before he die. But to the surprise of everyone, once I came into this man's life he almost got revived, started communicating and become happy instead being depressed. Instead of lasting only one month he lasted almost 6 months under my care. I couldn't feel more accomplished than seeing the smile I put on my patients face.

I have always had an interest in the Healthcare field, mostly in Dentalcare. I had previously gone to school for Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene, but stopped to start a family. I am presently married with two boys and live in Mullica Township. My journey in the Home Healthcare Field started about five years ago when we took in my elderly grandmother. She was battling Alzheimer's Disease and was unable to live on her own. She stayed with us for over six months before she eventually had to go into a nursing home. During that time we learned a lot about my grandmother as well as the awful disease that was affecting her. It was after she left us that a friend of mine told me about a Home Healthcare Agency in the area. I started out as a "companion" where I would cook, clean and drive my clients around. I wanted to go further in my career and went back to school to be a CNA. I truly love my job and have become very close with my clients. I like to listen to their stories and feel like I am making a difference in their lives. I am presently working for two Homecare Companies, but would like to work on my own. I have been awarded the GRACE award from one of the agencies. This award is given to a caregiver who exemplifies compassion, caring, empathy, respect, good attitude and going above and beyond the call of duty.

I became a Caregiver because I wanted to enhance the quality of life of the people I work with and to help preserve their dignity. I like being a Caregiver because it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that the people that I work with we establish such great rapport that we are like family to one another. I am very passionate about what I do and I feel I was called for this truly amazing fulfilling and instantly gratifying position. I am extremely patient, compassionate and understanding. I just want to give back because I recognize the sacrifices that were made by them and that they laid the foundation. It is like the saying "once a man twice a child". We are now the parents and we must make certain that there golden years are the most memorable.

Being a caregiver comes natural to me. I have a large family, and caring for others is a passion of mine. I like to help others, keep them company, and laugh. It is rewarding to me to see others smile. A personal achievement that I am proud of is being a mother of five children. It is the most rewarding job I could ever have, and truly an honor to have such beautiful kids. I like to cook, garden, watch movies and attend social events.

What makes me a great caregiver is that every since I seen my mother pass and wasn't able to do anything to help her it just upsetted me I realize that I wanted to be able to help others, so I took the class for CNA1. I love talking and listening to the stories that they tell when they where growing up and alot of the elderly has been in WW1 and WW2. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the love you give them and the love they have for you, that I can make a big difference in someone life.

I enjoy working with seniors and seeing them smile. I have over 7 years of work experience working with seniors in their homes and within assisted living environment. I have experience working with dementia patients, and those with different stages of Alzheimer's disease as well as having experience with Parkinson's Disease.
