Caregiving is my passion it all started when I was a kid all in just wanting to fix my grandfather who had dementia and PTS . I looked after him until I finished school . As so my mom took over and I went to Cali to take on my dream full time .. I have worked with asl patients , Quadriplegic , dementia, Alzheimer's, mental health as well as kids . I started off with independent care and later moving on to facilities as well as obtaining my med tech . Later on had to go back to take care of my grandfather and mom who recently passed away now I take care of my mom and moved her out to live with me in Escondido . I have been there when it has come to having babies (they grown now) after surgery, or a long time position of assistant. I love what I do, I have compassion for the hurting and patience. I've been a caregiver for 5 years, and honestly I've loved it ever sense. I love that I can help seniors with there regular daily activities. Them telling me about all the successful things they did is so inspiring. What has helped me be a better care giver is being more patient everything is done one thing at a time. Giving back to the elderly community due to understanding that as people age things become more challenging when it comes to getting things done, I want to make it easier on the clients that may not always have someone to assist them and make it a little easier for them to accomplish a task. Also, clients have may not someone to talk to and or eat with, etc.. and they just want a companionship, and I can be that companion for them. What I like about being a caregiver is that the clients are sweet, funny, have a sense of humor, the clients families are supportive and helpful, I like building that report with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is when a client request me and misses me when I am not there; this tells me I have built that report and I've made a positive impact on that client.
