I am a very down to earth, kind hearted person. I have always loved taking care of people, whether it be babies/kids or the elderly. I love being able to help people and it is very rewarding being a caregiver. Giving them companionship is so rewarding, especially if they don't have family/friends nearby.

I love working with elderly and help them and make sure they get to there doctor appointments grocery shopping and remind them to take there medications and help them prep food for them and help them with some chores around the house and make sure they have clean clothes and i enjoy helping elderly people out i helped my grandmother for 15 years of my life

I know this sounds lame, but I always knew I wanted to be a nurse. I love the rewarding feeling I get from giving. Now, when I was a kid that was another story. I carried all of my toys in a brown grocery bag and you would have to fight me to get me to share! I love listening and learning from others. I feel that this has only improved my caregiving skills. I have worked with all ages, races, religions, disabilities and I treat each person the same. We all deserve dignity and respect regardless of our situation. I'm kind, but love to laugh and have a good time. Most importantly I know how to act appropriate for the situation. I believe an achievement that I can truly be proud of everyday is that I have the ability to take life as it comes and always put things into perspective. I hold my family close to my heart. My passion for healthcare began about the age of five. For many years my dream career was to become a doctor. As I aged and researched into a career as a doctor, I realized that medical school was far too expensive for my financial situation. Regardless, of this financial set back, I knew that healthcare was the career field I wanted to pursue. I have always had a caring, loving, nurturing, helpful, compassionate, caregiver disposition and character. The greatest personal reward for me is the joy I feel at the end of each day knowing I have done something to make someones day happier, healthier, and more productive. I have a AAS degree in medical administration and Certifications for CNA, PCA, CPR, BLS, Passed the HHA exam through my current job at Nightingale Home Health Care, and multiple years experience working in home health care. I am a seasoned caregiver with 20+ years experience. I have worked as an LPN in all areas of care- Hospital med/surg. OB/NSY, ICU, E.R. Also many years as charge nurse in nursing homes. In 2008 I decided to leave the rat race of facilities and get back to what nursing is supposed to be. I love doing 1:1 care of my clients and families. It is great to care for my clients complete needs- physical, emotional and spiritual.

1. The reason why I became a caregiver is because I like to help people out with there daily living cares, getting to other people, giving them the care they need and deserve. I have worked other jobs and I have never liked them as much as I like being a CNA. 2. since a young girl, it was my passion to care for people, whether that be adults, children, pets, ect. I started a PCA job after High School for mentally and physically handicapped adults. It was the only job I truly had passion for, and at the end of the day I believe I got more from them then they ever did me. The most enjoyable part is being surrounded by individuals who just shine with warmth, empathy, compassion, understanding, ect. My proudest personal acheivment was YEARS after I had moved onto another job, I was out with my co workers explaining how I never have loved a job as much as I had that one. I very vaguly described a special bond a client and I had and all the fun things we would do. All off a sudden, a supervisor from another department who had been sitting some feet away from us...stood up and asked if i was talking about "Said Name" , I was taken back but told her yes. After she told me he had passed away, she came up to me with eyes overflowing with tears about how touched she felt by hearing me speak of her uncle with such love and serenity. Two days later she brought me something from her car, a big, white, shadow box of all his favorite posessions (his beloved rosary, favorite teddy bear, empty bottle of Mt Dew (his fav soda) some things he colored, and a few photographers of him) I immidiatly recognized everything in that box, and at that point we both burst into tears and hugged. She told me.... "It's people like you who ,we are truly grateful for, that get to care for our most loved ones. She could tell the people who were just there for a job, and people like me that treated each and every individual as if they were my own brother, son, parent, or grandparent. To this day this story still holds my heart, and it still makes me cry. Sometimes when I didn't think I was good enough for the job, I remind myself what these beautiful souls bring to me. No doubt about it, it is God's work.....
