Hello my name is Ramona Harmon. I like helping people and caring for them the way I want to be treated. I enjoy talking to people and learning a little about them to. I try to be kind to everyone and treat them with respect and dignity.

I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

What makes me a great caregiver is because I'm an easy going person and understand others. What attracted me about being a caregiver is the smile that I bring into others face. I enjoy learning more about my client listening to their stories about when they were young how they use to be . I'm proud of being the first child to graduate in my family

I love helping people. Taking care of my great grandmother attracted me to this field of work.

As a long term caregiver, I am not only very loving and genuine, but I believe that entering into a career choice such as caregiving should be something that one is passionate about. I myself have grown up with family who have selflessly given their time, love and attention to others. I have a natural gift of helping and serving. I would never choose to care for people for just monetary purposes. I have helped care for people since I was a teenager, helping my mom with her clients. I honestly love to serve. I feel fulfilled knowing that I'm able to assist somebody. Being needed is my joy. It motivates me. I care about people's wellbeing as if they are my own family. I have served with a wide variety of people over the last 15 years. I worked in assited facilities, live-in care, and daily care. I have an extensive history with serving elderly and I love what I do. I am very easy to work with. I go above and beyond for people. I dont mind working long hours to help however I can. I look at caregiving as a lifestyle I would hope someone would give my family or myself when needed someday.

I would describe my personality as quiet and somewhat shy. I have always found it rewarding to work with the elderly. I also like the fact the I am able to build a relationship with the people I care for. I think that my ability to pay attention to detail and always insure safety is what makes me a good caregiver. A personal achievement I am proud of would be obtaining my associates degree during the pandemic.
