I've always been one to care for others. My empathetic nature makes its a natural experience. I am a detail oriented person, which I find to be necessary in this field. I decided to get my CNA as a way to exercise my abilities to be a caregiver to others. I have since begun other ventures in life, but still hold a special place in my heart for caregiving

I am a cheerful, energetic and positive person. I handled the care of both my parents until they passed. My mother who outlived my father, lived with me for 10 years and passed of Alzheimer's and gastric ulcer in our home I handled her last weeks with the assistance of hospice care. I enjoy learning about other people's experiences in life and assisting them in any way I can from my experiences.

I've been a caregiver off and on a total of 15 years... I started out taking care of my great grandmother with dementia back when I was in high school. I love helping others and that is what inspired me to want to be a caregiver... I have also worked in different assisted living facilities and group homes and also worked for a couple of years administering medications..

I am a breast cancer survivor. Going through that experience (chemo, surgery, radiation) gave me a perspective I had not previously experienced. I love being a Caregiver and assisting the elderly. I've worked with clients who have Alzheimer's and/or Dementia for over 14 years as a Memory Care Director and caregiver and have enjoyed every moment. I chose to be a caregiver because I wanted to have that one to one time with a client. I've met some wonderful families and clients over the years and enjoy seeing the smiles on their faces when they see their loved ones enjoying life again. The one achievement I am proud of is when I took the first step into becoming a Memory Care Director/Caregiver. My life has only been blessed because of the choice I made.

Hey! My name is Kimberly. I'm 32 years old. I served 8 years in the Army. A year after getting out I started working at a state hospital (mental hospital) in Kansas. This was something I had never done before. I was placed on the geriatric unit. I LOVED working on this unit! I loved getting to know each patient and building a rapport with them. I truly enjoy caring for people. I enjoy sitting and talking / listening and getting to know them. I believe as a caregiver the patient should be treated as you would want your own family to be treated. I am proud of what I have done in my life this far.
