Personality traits that help me be a great caregiver include compassion, integrity, reliability, and my outgoing nature. I enjoy being with people and learning from them. I also really enjoy helping people. What attracted me to being a caregiver is the same thing that attracted me to being an EMT - helping people. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is learning from people that are more experienced than I. Also, I do enjoy helping people and spending time with them. A personal achievement that I am proud of is my kids. I have 3 kids, ages 22, 10, and about to turn 3. A boy and 2 girls. They are my world. Another achievement I am proud of is being a firefighter/ EMT. My dad was a firefighter/EMT and I was very proud to follow in his footsteps. He was my hero. One more thing I am proud of, that is a work in progress, is that I am currently learning how to code. I am almost done learning Python. I am very proud of that.

I've been in a caregiving roll of some sort almost my entire life. I love what I do and have a passion for it. I love being of service to others. I had a gentleman I cared for that had trouble moving his feet and was extremely tall...I asked him if he liked to dance and he responded that he loved to...I said let me lead and he was able to get around with my help so much better. ...proud moment of problem solving.

My name is Ahlea Smith, I have experienced working in a hospital, a medical clinic and in private homes as a staff nurse, private duty nurse and a caregiver. Experienced in checking vital signs, encoding patients profile, recording patients medical history and maintaining patients medical chart. Experienced in administering medications and vaccines both orally and injections to both pediatrics and adult patients. Assist clients with personal and activities of daily living. Assist patients with mobility issues with transferring from bed to wheelchair and assist patients with walkers and crutches. Providing emotional support to patients and to their family members. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities by administering medications, monitoring and training them in the areas of self care, self direction, independence, and mobility, which will give them the path to having an independent lifestyle and help them function in the community. I have also an experienced as a dialysis technician I initiated and terminated the treatment.

I am a compassionate, caring and understanding caregiver , I love to help the elderly in whatever they need me too help such as feeding,personal hygiene , transferring, bathing etc.

I care..have taken care of family members when others are too busy or simply dont care.. I'm getting older but am blessed with good health and find helping others is fulfill ing for me. I'm alone having lost my wife of many many years so I enjoy the company probably as much as they do.

I've had the honor of caring for individuals and families for over 10 years, and I can honestly say it's been some of the happiest times in my life. I've worked in Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and of course Pahrump. So driving has never been an issue for me. The list of duties that can be done is never a complete list. I consider my personal traits to be patience, emphaty and effort to help others. Tobe a caregiver for me is about working with people and working in a closely cooperating team. The enjoyable about this profession is that, this work is most beneficial with a visible results. My personal achievement is, I'm proud as a Czech citizen that I managed to integrate into a new society and to see my son grow into a successful man.

I am very patient and caring with my clients. What for me into caregiving was my mother at the age of 19 and from there I knew this was for me. Caregiving is not meant for everyone only those with a passion to help others. It feels good when you know you are doing a great job by the compliments and knowing that clients never want me to leave them.

I retired this year and decided I would not be home sitting down and getting lonely or flabby. I have been providing respite care for about 4 years for church members during weekends so I decided to make it my retirement job. I am very patient, love to clean, cook, chat. I have been taking care of hospice and assisted living seniors for several years during weekends while working full time during the week so I am now doing it for an agency and also taking clients on my own. What I like the most about my caregiving job is to see my seniors being happy and no longer scared and lonely wondering who will help them to stay independent as long as they can.
