My name is ShelbyJo. I have 11+ years of hospitality experience with hotels and restaurants, but after years of feeling unfulfilled, I returned to school and began to transition into healthcare in 2019. I have a certification of completion for CNA school as well as previous CPR certification. I have been a child caregiver for 8+ years and working with elderly with disabilities for the past 2+ years. I'm very passionate about serving and helping others reach their fullest potential!

Nursing is a calling for me. Making sure that people receive the best possible care I am able to provide is my most important goal. Safety first always, compassion, dignity, privacy, respect and hope are all important attribute's that I find essential to good nursing care. It is a meaningful gratifying experience to know that I can add to someone's life and possibility bring goodness when health issues can be a challenge and so often depressing. Good nursing requires being completely present while in someone's home or in a facility. My standards are no cell phones while at work, no clock watching, and I always address people with respect by using MR.or Mrs. (last name) until I am encouraged otherwise. Using Mama or Papa and other terms of endearment are not appropriate for me personally in professional healthcare. I worked in this field for over 19 years, it started with my nephew who is mentally disabled and needing full-time care. I moved on to getting certified CNA working with the disabled and elderly in a Convalescent Hospital. After my third child I moved on to private care which I still am currently doing. There is no Greater Joy than helping others!

I have a recent CPR, and medical exam result but I am willing to get another medical exam for your info on my medical status. I am an immigrant ready to apply for an American citizenship.
