I took care of my father, in our home, for over 8 years before he passed away on Mother's day 2019. I managed his medication, cleaned the house, made his meals, washed his clothes, helped dress and gave him baths. I assisted him in walking and eating. I delt with insurance companies and doctors offices. I took him to and from the doctor. Changed bandages and just sat and talked to him. I now take care of my mother, in almost the same way. I love to help people and make them feel better in any way that I can. Taking the stress off the person and their families is a way, I feel like, I can make that happen. I have learned a lot (hands-on) and a personal achievement I'm proud of, is learning how to pull community resources to assist the families I help.

When I worked for EHM Senior Solutions, all of my long-term clients would rather not have anyone else come in from the company when I was not available. With all of my clients that needed 24 hour care and had several caregivers, I was the only one asked to stay on assignment when they no longer needed 24 hour care. Lastly, I had a client that was put in Hospice Care and was given 3 days to live. After 1 month of starting the assignment, my client graduated from Hospice, and lived for another 2 years. He was 100yrs old.
