When my grandmother, who I took care of, passed away I knew I wanted to stay in senior care and give back to the adults and elderly. My name is Alexis Vojvodich. I go by "Lexi". I took a job at Addus home care is what stole my heart and let me know that helping the elderly live a well life was my passion. I worked there for a year and i workd at Reflections Memory Care at the same time. I loved my clients/residents so much. I absolutely love getting to grow close and share my life with clients and I love that I get to help them live. Most elderly raised a family their selves, being a caregiver I feel like it is what they deserve, which is getting taken care of, just like they did their families. The achievement i am most proud of is getting the experience of helping with Addus and Reflections so that I will be able to care for the people that raised me to the best of my ability. The money isn't what draws me to this job, it is getting to show people that they are loved and getting to help.

I am very compassionate and attentive to the needs of the elderly. I am extremely dependable and highly motivated in providing patient care. I am very loving and love to listen when they are talking to me. I have been in the medical field most of my working career, however I worked in Pathology and not as a caregiving. I am very knowledgeable about what happens when we age which I believe helps me understand what a person experience during the aging process. Listening to people tell you about who they are and what they have done over their life time. I had the opportunity to take care of an elderly gentleman during his last days and making his last days as enjoyable and pleasant and possible. I think of him and miss him everyday. He died two months before his 100th birthday. He was an amazing man. I believe that I not only comforted and touched his life but he touched mine. May he rest in peace.

I am a college graduate. I graduated in May of 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and elementary education. I am married and have 2 special needs boys. I like to crochet and read.
