I really enjoy helping people, I find it to be the most fulfilling thing you can do in life.

I chose to become a caregiver because I needed a job and I watched my mom do for 18yrs so thats part of the reason I became a caregiver. I've been a caregiver for 7yrs, the most rewarding part about this job is the relationships you develop with the clients you care for. The clients I've worked with over the years have taught me helped me to develop more patience, compassion and being more openminded. This feild of work is rewarding in so many ways besides making good money. You develop and posses a lot of good characteristics traits and long lasting relationships and a friendship with some of the clients you work with. In the end its well worth it.

Somethings come naturally, and caring for children and the elderly seems natural for me. The years prior to my parents passing away, I worked a full time job and still helped take care of my parents. I spent weekend and evening with them. There were no regrets after they passed. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is the pleasure it gives the person I'm helping, and the good feeling I get assisting them. I know both my parents were proud, happy and relieved to be able to have stayed at home until they died. We are a close knit family and that is why I started helping my Aunt and a family friend once my parents passed and I became retired. My daughter is an RN and my son owns his own excavation company. I have six grandchildren, 5 girls and 1 boy. The boy was the last :) I live in a 4 tenement house that originally belonged to my grandparents, then my parents and now my brother owns it. 17yrs ago I moved back to Adams after living in California for 20 yrs. One of the apartments was available so I decided to not buy another house, and just live in the apartment next door to my parents. I had a baby monitor in my parents bedroom and in my bedroom so if they needed me during the night, they could just "yell", which my Mom did often because she could no longer walk on her own. Both my children live on the same street as I do, which makes it nice. I moved back to the Berkshires just in time to enjoy my parents last years before passing.

I love the health career I'm in its such a great feeling to help people in need and to go asleep at night knowing that person was able to get through another day with your help. I became a caregiver because of my grandma she's been a AFC host since i was about 6 years old and loved watching the individual she took care of and still does become family to us and watch him become a better and healthier person. I enjoy that i can change someones life with just a little help and make them happy at the end of the day by even just having a conversation with them. I was proud of finally giving back to my elders by getting my HHA certificate and continuing on in a field I'm passionate about.

I live in Canaan New York with my beautiful family. We have a farm and enjoy being outside. I worked full time in business management until last year. I wanted to work direct with clients and make a difference in their lives.

I've been in the care giving field for 10 plus years, and enjoy it. I enjoy helping others, and making a difference in people lives. I'm a compassionate caring person, and I'm kind and patient with my clients. I first started in caregiving when I was a freshman in high school, and voulentered at a nursing home. I also took care of a family member for many years. I got my CNA certification shortly after, and have been doing home care ever sense. I look forward to continuing my career in this field.

I am a very loving person I treat everybody how I would want to be treated . What attracted me to be a caregiver was that I grew up with my grandmother all my life I just live the elderly . What I enjoy most is being able to put a smile on a persons face making them feel like somebody actually cares .
