My journey into Home Health, Hospice and Caregiving started unexpectedly and quite personally. My then 16-year old daughter was diagnosed with a very rare malignant brain tumor. Fast forward 21 years. Although I enjoyed a very successful career as an IT Consultant, it was not emotionally satisfying. I am a caregiver at heart. I have cared for a young woman, now a young adult since her diagnosis with muscular dystrophy as a child. This is on an as-needed basis and she now enjoys independence in her own home. Working with my elderly families has been extremely rewarding. And caring for someone in their final season of life is something God put me on this earth to do. I raise an amazing teen granddaughter and she keeps me young at heart. Her love for pets keeps me on my toes with her two dogs, one cat and Waldo - her turtle. I am enrolling in the WINGS program and will receive my Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA)/Home Health Aide Certification in fall of 2020. This will be immediately followed by their Medication Management Certification program. Although I have performed in these roles and more for two decades, I have only recently decided to accomplish these Certifications. *Note, Any overnight, weekend or holiday shifts will be on an exception basis only*

Hi I'm Andrea I want to tell you a little about me. I'm 37 and Married with a stepdaughter who I call my own. We have a cat named Jaspurr. We are located in Norman, Oklahoma. I believe my personality traits that would make me a great caregiver are openness to feelings, straightforwardness(being "frank, sincere, and ingnous") Warmth (being affectionate and friendly) Postive emotions, Competence, Outgoing, Willing to communicate with all parties involved with the person I'm caring for. Patience and understanding. I'm very outgoing and love to talk and learn new things. What attracted me to being a caregiver is from August of 2003 to May of 2004 I took a CNA Class and worked a few short months at the Arbor House in Mustang before getting married for the first time. I moved out of state and did not continue to follow a dream I had of becoming an RN so I have decided to do caregiving and work my way to an RN. I wanted to help those in need and felt that was what attracted me to doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is helping those that need it most and for families to be able to not stress or worry about loved ones knowing they have someone like me that can keep their loved ones taken care of and keep them company and just someone to sit with them and listen to stories and many other things. A personal achievement for me is owning my very first brand new car 2021 Kia Rio. I feel another achievement for me is all the training I have taken the time to do on MyCNA Jobs and plan to do more. I have lots of certificates if you have any questions regarding any training please feel free as I was not able to add them to my profile. I'm working on trying to take another CNA class. I however am trained as a caregiver and have many other certifications that I could not add.I have several different certifications. If you choose to meet me with I can get all certificates I have printed out and bring them to show.

I am a compassionate individual with a big heart. My goal is to make a difference in the lives that I touch as I am invited into someone's home to care for their loved one. I believe in being organized, compassionate, loving, and bringing joy to those who are chronically or terminally ill. My passion to become a caregiver, started with becoming a hospice nurse. As a result, I have formed special relationships with families' of patient's that I once care for. I enjoy being able to go home at the end of the day knowing that I made someone smile. The one thing I am most proud of, is being able to share a part of me with a complete stranger and being able to make memories that will last a lifetime for that person.

Caring for people comes second nature to me. I enjoy helping others and I am in this field because it is what I love and what I was meant to do.I am a male Christian CNA waiting to take my PCT Exam Certification.I have competed my classroom work ,Clinical,and Externship.I have many years experience in caretaking. I have worked with clients one on one. I have also worked in group homes with 3 clients at a time and nursing homes with 8 patients at a time.I have also had the pleasure of working with autistic young men in private home settings.

I am friendly, kind caring, loving individual. I have 2 children who are 16 & 14. I am easy to get along with. I enjoy being able to help the elderly on a one-on-one basis. I learn a lot from them and I enjoy listening to them. I have been doing this since 2000 off and on.

I have worked in this field for about ten years. I enjoy helping people and want to make them happy. I want to make a positive difference in their life and help make their life easier. I am honost,reliable and hard-working. I have experience in dementia, Alzheimer's, autistic, mentally ill and developmentally disabled clients. I also have housekeeping experience as well.

Why I love doing what I do so much, is because I believe that we all should be treated the way we would wanted be treated I take every day that I get to speed with this people as a treasure. I'm not saying I'm perfect but I try my very hardest every single day to do my very best at helping and taking care of theses wonderful people. I take great pride in being someone people can depend on. I have been taking care of people my whole life from my brothers to my grandparents, ever since I was a child I wanted nothing but to help others, to let this part of there life to be the easiest and happiest times.

I absolutely love working in this field it's very rewarding. I treat all my residents with the utmost respect and give them the best care possible!
