Hi. I am a qualified Nurse from Australia, and my Registration is still Current although I live in the USA. I had wanted to be a nurse since i was little. Love helping people. My main passion is Palliative/Hospice Care. Just being with someone at the end of their life is fulfilling. I also have a granddaughter in Australia who I helped look after who was born with Golden Har Syndrome. That was very challenging and rewarding. My Interests are Hot Rods, Rockabilly/50s music, Drag-racing, and Antique shopping.

I'm compassionate about my patients and love helping take care of life's daily situations as they come. I took care of my mother who had Alzheimer, dementia, for 10 yrs , 24hr live in caretaker and I learned so much about life and how to have alot of patience. Its very rewarding to be a caregiver. I enjoy my clients and spending quality time with each one. Flexible, honest, gentle caregiving is my expertise. I have a medical assistant degree from San Joaquin Valley College and 25 years experience with personal caregiving.

I am a caring person who is very empathetic, and trustworthy. I have experience from taking care of my grandmother before she moved on. I myself have experienced drastic changes and can sympathize who my resident of what's happening. I plan on continuing my nursing career to either LVN or straight into RN.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of people. I love going for walks and enjoying the different seasons. I am a very mild personality, kind and gentle. I strive to put myself in the other persons' shoes. I apply the Golden Rule in dealing with my fellow man.

My name is Nonda Ford and I live in Bakersfield. I am interested in working a few hours a week and helping someone in need. I am attentive to one's needs as well as a good listener. I am very respectful to people and their belongings.

I love people of all ages. I am compassionate, kind, gentle and patient. My parents had me late in life so I was always around older people and helped with my older siblings babies. I have been involved in Childrens ministry since my 30's. I started a Widows Helping Widows ministry 9 months after my husband died in 1997, which is still active today. I also facilitate 2- 8 week Adult Grief support groups a year. Most recently I have been taking care of my disabled brother who lived with my parents all his life. I also helped to care for my parents until they went to a nursing home and/ or eventually died. My disabled brother now lives in a board and care in Anaheim and I still take him to all his doctors appointments and handle all his affairs.

What makes me a great caregiver is my caring nature. I care about people and I value peoples lives. I especially have the patience for the sick and elderly. I was attracted to being a caregiver because my mom was a caregiver and she took me to care for the elderly throughout my childhood and youth. Through those experiences, I gained a sense of purpose and appreciation for the gift of caring for others. I enjoyed listening to the life stories and experiences of others the more I spent time with the elderly and people who were ill. When I turned 18 years old I took a course to become a Certified Nurses Assistant and Home Health Aid. I worked in that field as a student for ten years. I continued working in the field part-time for over two years. The work was always rewarding for me. I learned a great deal of patience and support skills. I stayed attracted to the work because of the flexibility of hours and schedules.

It's been my passion since my grandmother was sick. I've been a caregiver for 12 years.....I love what I do--you can't do it for the money. You have to be yourself, be professional, honest, and truthful.
