My name is Arlette, My journey working with seniors started when I cared for my grandmother when she needed the help about 10 years ago. After that I noticed I enjoyed caring for the elderly and spending time with them. I love listening to their stories and learning from their experiences. I see them and treat them as my family. I like to help them get the best quality of life under their circumstances. I feel a sense of accomplishment every time it's time for me to leave their house and they have a smile on their faces. That lets me know they are happy and feel safe under my care. I have worked with people suffering from different illness like: Alzheimer's and dementia, cancer, hospice, C Diff. I like to have a good and close relationship with my client's families and work together with them. I can provide letters of recommendation if they are needed.

What makes me feel great about being a caregiver is that the client is loyal,and always happy. I am tolerant,patient,humble,able to work with tough clients.I also treat the client like if he or she was like my family.I don't take anything personal.I love my job and I'm patience I'm always nice and courteous I always put their needs first before mine.

became a caregiver because i worked at hospitals and so many of the elderly patients when going home had no one to care for them at home. so i decided and go out in that field of in home care and have been doing it for the last 22 yrs. what i like about being a caregiver is the fact that you work one on one and get to know the clients needs very well and i am not in a time clock or just a number as to working in facilities. Personal achievement is that i get so involved with the family n the elderly that after a while they are like family to me and i like going extra miles in helping out and not just for the amount of pay. i live in Sun City, CA. and have been very proud of myself in helping out the elderly because at the end of the day its always very rewarding.

Outside of raising six children, I've been a care giver for 26 years. I worked in children's ministry at a church four times a week for 18 years. I took care of my dad when he was dying from cancer. I served my Neighbor meals twice a day for several years. When he came down with cancer, his daughter hired me to take care of him while he was dying at the age of 96. In September 2019 I became companion caregiver to a 90 year-old man that has dementia. I really enjoy this type of work because I get to be part of giving a person a great quality life for him to enjoy! My number one priority is to keep him safe and healthy! I take him to museums, back Bay for a picnic/walks, park picnic/walk, and or a walk around the neighborhood. I stimulate his mind with crossword puzzles, we play together because sometimes he can get lost in the puzzle. Or sometimes we play cards. I encourage and assist him in do his daily exercises because he lose track of what he's doing. My number one goal is to give a good quality life to senior citizens because they deserve it!

I can speak both English and Chinese. I am a senior caregiver with CPR and live scan. I have the California Home Care Aid Registry. I have TB test and the flu shot in October. I had full vaccinated for COVID-19. I am super patient and caring . I think I have the gift of taking care of others. I have compassion on my work, I can put smiles on my clients' face.I am a good listener. I have over 6 years of experience with clients that have suffered from Cancer, Neuropathy, large wounds, eye blindness and blood disorders. In this profession it's important that we both make a perfect fit for one another. I'm a hard worker and I've never left my clients stranded and have never called in sick. It's very important to me that once I take a client in that's my responsibility. I can cook well and I'm very tidy. I'm experienced in using walkers, wheelchairs and walking canes. I'm experienced in senior exercise programs. I can do all bathing, dressing and grooming. Transportation is not a problem, I have a reliable car with insurance that can fit a portable wheelchair.
