I'm a great caregiver because I love taking care of people. The reason I became a caregiver was because of my grandmother and my stepmom. As a young girl I had to help my stepmom she had diabetes. She didn't take very good care of herself and had to have her legs amputated. So of course I helped her with her baths, get dressed even though we had nurse to come to our home. Then there was my grandma she had cancer of bladder so I assisted her with doctor appointment and few chores around the house. What I'm most proud of and achievement is being a great parent, terrific and loving grandmother, and a very dedicated , and loyal wife. My family is very important to me. I've always enjoyed caregiving - for my younger siblings, my own children, and working with the disabled. I began caring for seniors with my elderly mother-in-law and it was deeply satisfying. I became a caregiver around 1979, always felt needed wanting to help the elderly people of all kinds. I enjoy being around people when it comes to helping the sick. I will be their for them if needed. You have to be patient understanding caring know their needs and provide lots of TLC. I took care of a elderly for 14 years, she was in a wheel chair when I met her. also a heavy drinker. Within that 14years of my caring for her I was able to help her family and the client to make a decision for the client to under go knee surgery. She was able to walk for 6 years which was joyful time for her. Few more years after that she was able to give up drinking with a little of my help. I was very happy to see this achievement. The family was proud to see this accomplishment and thank me for my assistance. This made me feel so happy and wonderful that I was able to be their for them. I am a understanding and caring person when I can help someone that needs my services I will be their. I also enjoy traveling being around my grandchildren, love my church, I love to keep up with my landscape, enjoy exercising, and focus on my health.

Being a caregiver is one of most rewarding things a person can do. The smile on their faces is over whelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. Seeing a smile of appreciation over just a small deed that I do. I am Joshlyn. I have been a private caretaker for several years. I have assisted patients with all aspects of daily care, including dressing/undressing, checking vital signs, bathing, personal hygiene, transferring to and from bed, skin care and various other duties. I have administered oral and IV medication as prescribed by an attending physician on a daily basis. I have maintained records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems, in order to report and discuss observations with family members and physicians. I have enjoyed assisting seniors ever since i was a young girl.I always loved seeing everyone smile when i'd come to visit my grandma at her retirement home.I always knew how to handle situations without anyone telling me,i always knew when something was wrong with others and i knew how to help & cheer them up.My grandma always told me i would be in nursing and that i would be successful because i was good at what i do.When my grandma past away i desided i would care for elderly in memory of my grandma.I am proud that i have achieved my CNA license and that i make a difference in the lives of the elderly.That i help the elderly and their families feel safe,cared about and loved.It is very rewarding to know i helped bring peace and comfort to families and there is no greater reward than that.
