Hello! My name is Andrea, you may also call me Andy (for short) I've been a CNA since 2008. What's helped me enjoy my career more than anything is my residents & families. I consider everyone I have got the pleasure of taking care of like extra grandparents and I couldn't thank their families enough for sharing them with me. I've been trained & also have worked with Alzheimer's, & dementia. My grandmother whom I took care of for a couple years also had this disease. I've been trained on hoyer lifts many times. Also I've been educated on puree foods, thicken liquids & mechanical soft. I have a family of 2 of which I absolutely adore. My 13 yr old son & 1 yr old little girl. They keep me busy when I'm not working our summers consist of baseball games, swimming & learning something new everyday.

I love to help people, I'm a caregiver for 18 years, like to try my clients with respect and dignity, if the client and family agree, I enjoy to cook homemade fresh healthy meals, keep my client and the place clean, encouraging them to do some activity or exercises, also I can take my client to doctor and therapy appointment, can take vitals, errands...

During my childhood years, caring for my elderly grandparents was a part of my everyday life. They had several health issues and were in and out of hospitals frequently. I was exposed to caregivers in many different settings. The impact that kind, compassionate and informative care-giving made all the difference to me and my family. At the age of 12, I knew nursing was what I wanted to do with my life. As I pursued nursing, I started out caring for patients in a nursing home as a nursing assistant. I loved this, as I got to care for clients, just like my grandparents. The opportunity to establish connections with clients week-to-week was special! After nursing school, I moved to caring for patients in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. The hospital experiences have given me a broad scope of skills, whether it is assisting patients with basic self-care needs, changing dressings, managing ventilators or providing education, being able to establish a rapport with patients and their family's is still one of the favorite parts of my job. I love being able to help people understand what is going on with their health and their treatment plan. Just as others demonstrated to my own family, I want each of my clients and their family members to feel safe, cared for and heard.

I spent two weeks accompanying my client to Alaska as a caregiver, and enjoyed the experience so much. It was rewarding getting to see the smile on my clients face with every experience we took her to. My Mother was Ill from having cancer this is why i became a Caregiver........ I love being a Caregiver I am going on my 9th year as a Certified Home Health Aide. I LOVE My job and the satisfaction I get from Helping others achieve their goals...One Client I took care of had a stroke well when i took over giving this lady her care me and her decided to continue with her physical therapy ( Just rountine excerices and range & Motion on her left arm & leg ( which was partially paralyzed)..well after 2 months of continuous exercises SHE could use her left hand and actually grip the bar in the Shower! We were so proud to show her husband and Family what Her & I accomplished with a little love and compassion.... she became like My 2nd Momma and she told me i was her Angel girl so with that I love my job . for me I am Family oriented I have 4 living children 9 grandchildren (10th due in August) and 1 great grandson im dependable accurate and very compassionate and just simply love Life!
