I'm a very cheerful person who enjoys caring for others. I became a caregiver in 2018 and thought I'm not sure if this is for me but we will see! Well 4 almost 5 years Later I love what I do no matter the person, age or problems they have Being able to help someone and be their friend at the same time make me enjoy my work much more. Being a healthcare worker is more than just a job/career to me it's my life and I enjoy every bit of it. My most recent achievement I am proud of as a caregiver was helping an elderly lady a couple of houses down from me and she had fallen outside there was no one around to help her at the time, my family and I had come home from a night out so I put my children in the house and ran over to make sure she was okay and proceeded to help her up check her scratches and bruises out and help her inside her home. It was actually the same lady who gave me a hard time at one point but that time nothing else mattered.

I'm retired, looking for something more on a part-time basis. I have been a care giver for Hospice in New Bern NC for years. I have worked with Dementia patients, with dietary restrictive patients, Cancer patients. I have done light cleaning, bathing, laundry, ensures med were being taken, alerted when meds needed. I enjoy ensuring that the people I have been paired with are well taken care of and the needs they have are met, if not by me, I don't mind stepping aside to allow for trained professionals work with the patient. I like to ensure the patient is getting all I have to give them. I am a Non- smoker I did not have the COVID shots or any of the boosters for COVID. I enjoy crocheting, reading, trying different ways of cooking .

A caregiver for 1 year

I am caring, professional, compassionate, openminded and very patient. My 11 years of experiance as a CNA and 3 years as a Medical Assistant have groomed me to be a great caregiver. When I was 19 my grandmother was diagnosed with demtia, she declined rapidly and our family did not want to put her in a nursing home but we needed some extra hands in her care. We decided to hire a caregiver to help us in giving my grnadmother the proper care while keeping her comfortable at home. The caregiver turned out to be a young, untrained and untrustworthy person, our family was devastated and wanted to keep everyone away from my grnadmother after that. Some time had passed and I thought to myself I would make a great caregiver to my grandmother and so did my family. That is where my desire to be a great caregiver was born.

I am a very compassionate and tender hearted . I treat everyone how I would want to be treated and how I want my kids to treat others . In first grade I wrote a paper on how all I wanted to do when I grew up was be in the healthcare field. At a very young age my mom got sick and I helped take care of her everyday . Shortly after having my first child my uncle got put on Hopsice care and I went to the house everyday to help take care of him as well . I enjoy being able to build a bond with my patients , I like seeing them do better and feel better .

Hi, I am Amanda from Morehead city, NC. I was born here and raised. I love helping and working with the elderly!!! From giving them company, to playing a board game, watching t.v. or even going for a walk. Or even crafts. What attractive me to helping elderly is when I used to work for a cleaning company we would sometimes even end up watching the customer love one that need care. Even sometimes even own customer as well in some cases to even sometimes coming to there house end up having to call medical help due to finding them on the floor etc. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is love to clean one. I love helping the elderly also makes me happy to see that they come first and when they have a good day. Love seeing them happy and being part of there life and treat them respect, Make feel safe!!!
