I love my job and I have been a caregiver for over 10 years. I have experience taking care of Alzhemiers and Parkinson's patients, as well as those with dementia and the frail and elderly. I have more training than a CNA and have certificates. I am patient, kind and treat my clients the way I would like to be treated. I became a caregiver because I am a people person and enjoy being around seniors and hearing their stories as well as helping them to have to best life possible. Each of my clients have different personalities and like to do different things. Some things I have done for and with my clients are, preparing meals, bathing, dressing, laundry, shopping and errands. I have also provided transportation to Doctors appointments and assisted them and their families with understanding the Doctors instructions. Some fun things we have done together are watch TV, go to museums, the Zoo, movies, out to eat, go for a drive, play games, do puzzles, go for a walk or just sit and talk. An achievement I am very proud of is being a previous Owner /Operator of an Assisted Living Home. I have excellent referiences.

I have been a CNA for 11 years worked in the health field for 15 years. I love working with the elderly. Being able to help them stay in their home where they feel comfortable. I love listening and talking about the old days. I love working one on one that way I can give more attention to the person I am caring for.

I'm 30 years old and have been a caregiver since my teen years, I do thoroughly enjoy giving care and meeting new people! I first became a caregiver in 1989, taking care of my foster grandmother. I was with her until her last breath in 1992. From there I took care of my son who was terminally ill with brain cancer. He passed in Nov. of 1993. I started working Home Health as an attendant in 2001 with Oxford in Joplin and then with Independent Living. I moved to another state and worked as Dietary Manager for an Assisted Living facility. My dad became ill in 2009 so moved back to Joplin to care for him and went to work for Independent Living Center from 2010- 2014. I worked taking care of my father fulltime from 2015- 2017 when he passed. I am a go getter done gal who loves working with the elderly or any age needed. I have not worked since Sept of 2017 when Rheumatoid Arthritis took control of me. I would love to work part time preferring the afternoons and or evenings. Mornings are hard for me until medicine kicks in and movement begins.(humor) I am able to do most tasks except heavy lifting, and tight gripping. I love working and miss it so but physical labor all day is impossible for me I am sad to say. Would love to prove that I can carry on with meal prep, household duties, bathing, and numerous other tasks. I am very personable, and compassionate.

First off I am a huge hearted person! I don't need many strangers and my love for other individuals shines Bright through everything that I do. I'm very detail oriented and always willing to jump in and learn something new do what it takes to complete the task at hand as thoroughly and as efficiently as possible. And being a caregiver has been something that I have done most of my life my mother worked in the medical field and started in respiratory and moved into her MD license and so growing up in that type of environment it was just something that came naturally to me. Being a caregiver is just an extension of my family basically, is what that means is that I take those that I'm providing care for and love them and care for them just as much as I would is if they were a member of my family. What I love most about being a caregiver is simply that I am able to help somebody in need and not for me is the most rewarding feeling that I could receive from the position.
