Iam a people person who is down to earth I enjoy helping others and I also enjoy working and treating people the way that I would like to be treated

I have 35 years of caregiving experience. Have taken care of patients from the age of birth to 101 yrs old. Worked with hospice care, psychiatrics hospital, parkinson's, cancer, the blind, cognitive problems, paralyzed patients, dementia and many other illnesses and diseases.

I have worked in the health field for 45 years. I have a passion for caring for the elderly. I started out in high school as a Red Cross Volunteer at a local Nursing Home. I owned and operated my own Veterans Foster Home out of my Old Victorian 5 bed/4 bath Home on the Arkansas River in Colorado for 8 yrs.

I am happily married for more than 15 years and have 2 almost grown boys. My oldest is in his 3rd year of college and my youngest is in high-school. Both of my children have special needs. When I became a mom I was not prepared for the days ahead, but the Lord is gracious and we learned how to handle life one day at a time. I believe that raising my boys has taught me many lessons that I use with those I care for; for example, there is more than one way to do something, if we can't do something the normal way then we adapt. Being a caregiver is something I chose to start in my 40s. In my early life I was an interpreter for the deaf and blind and then worked in an attorneys office as their disabilities advocate for people who were applying for government disability. I loved both of these jobs and learned valuable life lessons from each; patience, for example. In my late 30s my mom got breast cancer. We had caregiver after caregiver come in to help her. Before this I had assumed that the title caregiver meant that the best care possible would be provided while they were there. Unfortunately I was wrong. I was appalled at some of the things I saw happen. I finally quit my job and became my mom's caregiver. I learned on the job the things I needed to know about her medical situation. I cared for her full time for 3 years until she passed. After a couple years (about a year of depression from the loss of my mom who was my best friend and a year of reflection on my life and what I wanted) I decided to find a way to help others. It has always brought me joy when I could make someone feel better or smile. I want to provide the kind of care that I would would expect for my own family. When I am caring for someone they will be treated just like my own loved one. I provide them with level of care that I would expect for my mom. And I try to make them smile every time we meet. I believe that laughter is the best medicine.

Hi... I am Barry Gersten, I have to say that my best quality as a caregiver is that I am always willing to help with whatever is needed. I dont shy away from things that I know I can do. Another great quality that I have is that I like to see things organized and tidy and do not like to leave when things are not in order. One of the things I find that I really enjoy is helping people, especially those who are not able to help themselves. Back in the early 2000s, my Mother was diagnosed with Cancer (Emphysema ). I was her primary caregiver, and it brought me joy to know that I was there to help her through her most difficult times.

I'm an enthusiastic caregiver who has been giving the highest level of care for over 20 years there's pretty much nothing I haven't seen before. It gives me great pleasure to see clients excel at activities that they are normally doing and aiding them in the fractions that they cannot complete themselves. I've come to find is learning your client is key knowing how they like to do something and helping them do their task or doing the task the way they prefer if at all possible keeping sense of self inactivities

I'm an outgoing and intelligent young woman who loves to take care of people. I have being doing this for over 13 years and I love what I do.

I am a Christian first and far most! I love all of God's people. That makes me a wonderful care giver. Your love one will love me like I love them. No job is to big, I do what ever is needed to make sure my clients are taking care of.
