I worked as a caregiver for on an off for 12 years.

Hello ! I am attracted to being a caregiver because I was raised by my grandparents. I love taking care of the people that took care of me when I needed it most. A personal achievement of mine is that I graduated college and showed my grandparents that their handwork and guidance was not taken for granted.

I feel drawn to taking care of others. I served as a medical specialist for one term in the US Army National Guard. I also served as shift floor first responder at plants I worked at over the years while a cnc machinist. It has been my privilege to assist with hospice care for family and others through word of mouth. I've gone as far as getting ordained so I could spend time with one of the gentlemen I was caring for who requested me while in ICU. (They would only allow family and clergy.) I've worked with people recovering and in cancer treatment, dementia, alzheimers, deaf, blind, bed bound, mobility issues using wheel chairs and walkers, among other issues. As a caregiver, I have done many things: kept written log for family if needed, light housekeeping, baths and showers, laundry, medication monitoring, errands, helping with making and keeping appointments, the occasional over night stay, meal prep and much more. I'm also a mother of a child with a cleft pallet who also went through years of heart issues until she had surgery, and have a daughter with autism as well so special needs I'm more than comfortable with. It is my goal to make sure the comfort and safety of every individual meets their specific needs. As a caregiver, I treat everyone as extended family.

I am very patient and considerate. When comes to caregiving I like to have a sense of humor and keep my spirit joyous so that I can serve with my best. I started caregiving for my mother in 2009 and have been doing it ever since. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving is seeing the satisfaction of my loved ones; knowing that their needs have been met. I wouldn't say I have a personal achievement to be proud of per say, because I haven't perfected being a caregiver. But I'm proud of the fact that I give of myself to others in need.

I have been a certified nursing assistant for 17 years? I am excellent at caring for others. Helping individuals whom have been injured or those who are disabled or ailing is my passion. I take great pride in being a CNA and assisting where people can not completely do for themselves, to ease the load on the family and loved ones.

Last 10 plus years I was the full time care giver for my mom who was a kidney patient (dialysis, medicine induced diabetic), auto-immune Patient which led to head and neck cancer and dad (COPD, Emphysema) before they passed. I enjoy caring for everyone, but the elderly hold a special place in my heart. Listening to them reminisce about the things they did when they were younger is one of my favorite things. They may not remember what they ate for breakfast, but watching their eyes light up when they tell me about a first love, a best friend from school or anything from their younger days fills my heart with joy. Previous experience in cancer care, dialysis care, COPD, emphysema, dementia, diabetic care and special needs. CPR/AED certified

I'm passionate about helping others. It's something I don't think twice about. I've been a caregiver to many throughout the years and I feel it's my purpose in life. I enjoy helping those of all ages. I started caregiving at a young age with my baby brother and it's continued with other family members. Almost three years ago when I moved to Summerville is when I decided to venture out and help other families as well. I've had other jobs but none that are as satisfying as caring for and helping others on a more personal level.

I am caring clean, empathetic and responsible . My mother having been ill for years then my husband and being able to make them smile during my care made want to do this all my life I feel fulfilled. Being able to be a care giver satisfies me.

I helped my mother during her breast cancer and lung cancer diagnosis. So care giving is very personal to me. I have worked the past 5 years assisting 4 individuals with specials needs. I assisted with medications, grooming, personal hygiene, meal prep and feeding. I also was responsible for household chores. I took my clients on outings and to doctors appointments. I also was over their finances. Now that my mother has passed I really would like to give back to other people and help those who need it. I know how hard the responsibility is of caring for a family member and everyone needs help.
