I want to make sure the care for them is more important and the importance of their personal hygiene the care for their activities for light exercises and the hours for when they have eaten or not is very important before helping them with other things such as light housekeeping. In 2017-2018 I served as live-in companion/caregiver for the singer-songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker as he recovered from throat cancer before moving to Colorado in mid-2018 to care for my girlfriend's father, who had moderate Alzheimer's Disease. In 2020 I moved back to my native Central Texas to ride out the pandemic, and before moving back to Denver this year served as a caregiver in Austin for a gentleman who was recovering from a stroke. Prior to caregiving I was a professional meditation teacher in drug and alcohol treatment centers as well as a volunteer teacher in the Texas correctional system.
