My grandmother was on hospice when I was a young girl. I saw how grateful my grandmother was and how much her caregiver touched my Grandmother's life. Ever since I wanted to make a difference and touch the lives of others. I have been a CNA for three years now, and I take pride in taking care of others. I want to make a difference in the life of every patient that I see . I not only want to be there for the patient but for their family too.

I pay great attention to detail and with over 10 years of experience in the field I have developed a strength in anticipating a person's needs. I find great joy and purpose in caring for others and improving their quality of life. I feel that excelling at helping another person live their best life is not only an honor but a privilege. I hold myself and quality of work at a high standard which equates to respect for one's home and space, multiple inspections on safety and assistance equipment as well as a strong attention placed on medication management and assessing care plans.

My names Martisha, but many call me T. I am very caring and loving, I love the company of others and being there for others. I am very patient and helpful when needed and am also good at assisting while not taking over. I have been attracted to care giving because my step-grandpa was diagnosed with a brain tumor when I was a teenager. I spent many days of my summer that year assisting his hospice caregiver and I really admired all she did for our family to make his last days with us easier, so much so that I've wanted to help in the same way she did. The part I would love the most about care giving is getting to make their lives just a little easier with daily tasks as well as being able to give them a companionship or friendship that they can rely on when times aren't the best. A personal achievement I am very proud of is when I finished my associates degree on my own, this was very challenging for me because I have been supporting myself through college and at times I didn't think I would ever achieve at least my associates and I did and am that much closer to becoming a Radiologist!

I have been care-giving for just about 10 years. I love the work and everything that comes with it. I love being able to help a person who may not be able to completely help themselves. My very first experience with care was at the age of nine. My great grandmother lived in our home so I Helped my mom and Aunts care for my grandmother as much as I was able. That experience helped to create a passion in me for helping others, Specially Elderly persons and those with diminished abilities due to diseases such as Alzheimer's and Dementia. I've learned a lot from past clients so as much as I know I can help someone else, I know that these experiences are essentially helping me as well.
