With a Psychology degree, I am able to communicate effectively with both the client as well as the client's family members. I offer compassion and understanding to each individual's family. I have a strong personality and am able to encourage my clients to allow me to help them with the services that are best for them even when they are reluctant. I am able to help them maintain their dignity and independence while assisting them with their every day tasks. I became a caregiver in 2016 when my company lost it's grants. I evaluated what other avenues were available to me to share my years of counseling experiences. I decided that as a home health care aid, I could help both the client themselves and their families. I am a 44 year old woman who enjoys taking care of people. I have a heart of gold and I thrive when it comes to helping people. I love to cook from scratch and baking what they are aloud to have. I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and enjoy caring for others and improving their quality of life. I am a Respiratory Therapist and have an Associates degree as a Medical Office Assistant. I also am a volunteer time with my local Volunteer Fire Department as the President, Captain of the K9 Search and Rescue Team as well as a K9 Handler and an EMT. I became interested in being a caregiver when I was a teenager when I took care of my Grandmother and saw the challenges she endured in her life as she aged. I also have a diploma in Canine Obedience trainer and Veterinary Assistance. I feel my greatest achievement is nationally certifying 2 different K9s at 3 levels of trailing to help locate lost and missing people.

To answer the first question, what makes me a great Caregiver? Ans. I do extra miles. Listen to the needs of a client. Have patuent & compassion and be supportive to the family. I am reliable, dependable, and very helpful. Iam honest & trustworthy. I am punctual, hardworking and responsible. Second question: Why did you become a caregiver? Ans. Because it is my passion to help others especially for seniors that really need help. Third question: What do you like about being a Caregiver? Ans. I like being a caregiver because I am able to help and take care of the seniors like my parents and make them happy. Fourth or last question: What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Ans. There is only one thing that I felt achieved in my job is to make my client happy of what I have done to them. For me, that is my greatest achievement.

Becoming a caregiver for me comes from a deep compassion to help others. Knowing that I can make a difference in someones day just from lending a hand, an ear, or a shoulder is enjoyable for me. Hi! I have been taking care of living beings and organics my entire life. I get true joy in helping others. I am that person that would give you the t-shirt off my back or my last dollar to help. I recently moved my grandfather from New Castle, PA down here to Corning, OH after my grandmother had passed away. He was not being taken care of properly in Pa. He had several major medical issues going on. When I got him in my care he was 86 lbs. Within 6 months I had him up to 125. His highest weight was 154 before the last month or 2 of his life and he started to go downhill. He struggled with emphysema, COPD, CLL, prostate and urinary problems, a slew of heart problems, dementia, hearing loss and he was very combative when trying to get him to eat or bath. But he lived the best life he had left in my care until he passed this past October. I had him for 2 years. I am a very intelligent individual whom loves to garden, homestead, live off the land, read a ton, craft, cook and bake. I am a sewing enthusiast and make my own jewelry. I was told about this job option by a friend of mine who works for the company and she thought I would make a perfect fit for it since I am moving back home. I want to be able to care for more individuals as I did my grandfather. I am experienced in nursing home/assisted living care. In specific dementia and Alzheimer's. I was certified in med pass. My children are growing like weeds and they won't be home forever. I have several personal achievements. My most important one is that I am appointed by the State Supreme Court of Ohio to serve abused and neglected children and be their voice in court. I own a small business owner and opened up my own bakery. I did that and am closing/selling my business to move back home to be closer to family. I have lived all around the world and served proudly for our country. I am very knowledgeable about different cultures. I do have Ohio State & Federal clearances and background checks available.

I am a very sweet and outgoing person, I love to meet new people, I am a very good listener ( I love to hear good stories), I make sure I get the job done the correct way! I wanted to be a caregiver because when my grandma was declining in health I saw how hard it was for her to do things. So to be a caregiver is a really special thing to do for people. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is I see alot of smiles from people when they have someone around and someone to talk to and that cares about the little things.

8 years as a caregiver

I became a caregiver because my dad started getting sick, then we soon found out he had cancer. I knew he needed care 24/7. After he passed I continued my career and got my CNA and worked 3 years at a nursing home, and have realized that isn't for me. I have decided to move onto home health care where I can be 1:1 with people.
