Hello. My name is Toria Gilewala. I have worked within the healthcare industry for over 15 years as a CNA, Direct Support Professional, and Case Manager. I became attracted to caregiving after completing a CNA course and clinical rotation (at a local hospital) during my senior year of high school. This experience had a lasting impact on my life, prompting me to work and pursue college degrees within the healthcare industry. My previous work experience consists of working in home health care, hospital, nursing home, and community health center settings, where patient's individual needs varied. The most enjoyable part of being a caregiver is helping to make a difference in the life of others, from different walks of life. I grew up in the small town of Mars Hill Went to Early college high school where all my classes are honors based. I've worked in many different Nursing homes, Assisted living facilities. If i would describe myself i would say I'm a very honest, trustworthy, cautious, passionate, compassionate person. I've worked in Home care, skilled nursing and Assisted living settings and enjoyed it. I'm very respectful, professional and Oriented. I know how to assist with physical therapy, vital sings assessments such as Blood pressure,respirations, pulse, weight, and give companionship with activities. I'm well trained in infection control, standard precautions. Airborne, contact,droplet precautions. I'm skilled with repositioning, transferring and ambulation with clients I've worked with the mentally disabled, handicapped, and jeryatric patients. Im also well trained on catheter care, colostomy care, palliative care and peri care. I have worked with clients who are on oxygen therapy, kemo therapy, physical therapy. I'm a decent cook.
