Having a good relationship with who I help means so much. The reason in 1990 that I became a Caregiver was My Mom had breast cancer and I wanted to be the best I could be to take care of her. After My Mom passed away in 1993. Hello! My name is Elaine and I'm a great caregiver because, after looking after my father who had Alzheimer's for four years, I have the kind of experience and genuine compassion for seniors that I would want if I were looking for a caregiver. I have completed my CNA training, and am CPR certified. I've also completed several certificate courses in Safety, Memory Care, etc.. Safety is my number one priority. I'm all about fall prevention and have developed techniques to keep my clients as mobile and self-sufficient as possible while keeping them safe at the same time. For me, looking after elders is a privilege. I think that in this sometimes youth-obsessed culture, we can forget how much we all owe to the Greatest Generation. I love to talk to my clients about their experiences, their children, the music they loved, and anything else that brings a smile to their faces! From my father I learned about the music and culture of the 30's, 40's and 50's, and I love it when my clients sing their favorite songs or talk about what movies they liked from those days. I like to cook, so if your loved one has any favorite dishes I'm happy to make them. I can prepare fresh, healthy foods as well as fun desserts. I hope you will consider me for your Caregiver.

I care about people. I want them to live their best, mostly independent, dignified, fulfilled & happy lives. I seek to provide regular support while offering companionship. I am wired for nurturing service and administration. These traits make me a strong candidate for caregiving positions, especially where varied needs are to be met. The ideal candidate would ask me to offer companionship while encouraging activity/recreational opportunities. I would love to be able to assist with transportation to various activities/appointments; running errands; and meal planning/prep; and social interaction. I will perform light housekeeping, but I am not seeking a full housekeeping position. I will help navigate some personal care, but I am not licensed/qualified to provide in-depth home health services or to handle significant personal hygiene care. I am personable and enjoy being a home care provider. I became a caregiver because I wanted to help others by assisting them with their activities of daily living. I enjoyed caring for many seniors over the years and learned quite a lot from them. I believe I'm a great caregiver because I have had extensive training in a skilled nursing facility as well as in many private homes. I also enjoy seeing the difference that I often make in people's lives. I became a nursing assistant back in 1982 and acquired my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license at the convalescent hospital where I worked. I then went on to work for several home care agencies and acquired my Certified Home HeaIth Aide (CHHA) license. I have worked as an independent contractor caregiver for years. Nursing is a calling for me. Making sure that people receive the best possible care I am able to provide is my most important goal. Safety first always, compassion, dignity, privacy, respect and hope are all important attribute's that I find essential to good nursing care. It is a meaningful gratifying experience to know that I can add to someone's life and possibility bring goodness when health issues can be a challenge and so often depressing. Good nursing requires being completely present while in someone's home or in a facility. My standards are no cell phones while at work, no clock watching, and I always address people with respect by using MR.or Mrs. (last name) until I am encouraged otherwise. Using Mama or Papa and other terms of endearment are not appropriate for me personally in professional healthcare. I have been a caregiver since 2010, and a CNA since the beginning of 2018. I am currently registered with IHSS and have certifications for First Aid, CPR and AED. I enjoy caring for others and the one on one connection that comes with private clientele. I enroll in college for nursing in January.
