I've unofficially been a caregiver for over 20 years however, when my mother fell ill in 2014, I decided to pursue schooling for her. I enjoy getting to know people and learning about their lives, and being able to help them. I am most proud of being able to be my mothers caretaker before she passed in 2016.

After high school I worked with children for 8 years in group homes and in a psychiatric hospital before discovering Occupational Therapy. For the last 11+ years I have worked in skilled nursing facilities working with older adults with disabilities as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to increase their independence with meaningful activities. I recently moved from Maine to Florida and am licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, with a current NBCOT certification.

I am a compassionate, gentle and kind person, who cares for my clients like I would my own family. I have always worked in the health care field and love it , I was a Medical Assistant for 25 years and then I switched to Caregiving. I just love caring for the elderly and believe with my whole heart that they deserve the best care during this time in their lives. One of the things that I enjoy the most is listening to them talk about their lives and all the things they have done and all their memories, they really enjoy having someone to talk to and listen to them. I learn so much from their experiences.. I have 9 years of experience with people who have had many different health issues and difficulties. A lot with Dementia and Alzheimer's. I think the achievement I am most thankful for is my natural ability to do my Job well and really relate to my clients and make them feel safe, well taken care of and my compassion for them. I am CPR certified Have 3 other Certificates that are current. 1: Alzheimer's disease and Dementia 2: HIV/ Aids 3: Assistance: Administration of Medication
