Like a lot of people who are caregivers I started out taking care of a loved one, who was suffering from Lupus and Heart Disease. She was a retired nurse who was full of knowledge and more than happy to pass it on to me during the ten years I took care of her. I found that not only was I a very good caregiver but that I actually enjoyed it and found it very fulfilling! I think one of the most important things I learned while caring for seniors is that even though they may need help with many different things, some of which are very personal, they are still an adult not a child. I've found people appreciate that, I know I would if the situation was reversed. My second ten years in this business have been helping wonderful people who have found themselves in need of quality care. Their conditions have included Diabetes, Parkinson, Strokes, Dementia and Alzheimer's and other ailments. Some have just needed a little help and companionship. I was very happy that I could be there for them and make a difference in their day with whatever level of care they needed, and to help the family feel confident that their loved one had someone competent and caring to depend on. I have many hand written references that I have received over the years that I can share with you in person.

Im new to Florida I moved here in the end of July 2014 I believe in taking care of those who cannot do so themselves. I have achieved alot in my years from hospice care to critical care .Im a 57 year old male who did hospices from 1985 thru 2020. I obtained my lna license in NH in 2007 and received my license here in Aug 2014 I love what I do and believe home is MUCH better then a rehab or nursing facility its one on one rather then sharing with 15 others. I have received several awards for doing my job as well as i have many references that are available upon request. My last clients were24/7 both husband and wife he passed Jan 2017 and she passed oct 2019 just shy of 90 years old.I did not work in 2020 but resumed with a client in 2021 with end stage Alzheimer's which he just passed feb 8,2022. I've always wanted to be a caregiver since I was very young. I am a very compassionate person and love taking care of others. I have raised 3 beautiful children and have taken care of my grandchildren as well. I have also taken care of my mother who is elderly. After working as certified professional Secretary and Administrative Assistant for over 20 years in Jamaica, I came to the US and started working as a caregiver. I started working private duty nursing over 20 years now. My first assignment was quite an experience but there and then I realized that my calling was in helping the sick to recover, and those that are declining in their health and their independence to help in maintaining such. To say I have a passion in caring for my senior 'babies', is an understatement. As I care for my patients, and listen to their life's experiences, sharing, humouring, meeting their daily needs, at the end of the day I reap the benefit of an intrinsic reward seeing the smile on their face and they retire at the end of the day looking forward to another.
