My husband and I have a total of 10 children (blended family) I started of in the healthcare field by doing volunteer work at a local hospital in my hometown when I was 12 yrs old. At the age of 16 I became a CNA. Later in life I attended college, majoring as Respiratory Therapist. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is, loving and helping others.

I became a caregiver because I had always wanted to be a nurse when I was younger. Also, my best friend/sister-in-law became very ill at an early age and I had wanted to take care of her but never got the chance as she passed away at age 44. My mom also became ill shortly thereafter and I promised that she would never go to a nursing home. My intention was to care for her in my home, but unfortunately she never made it home from the hospital. I vowed that if I could not help my own family then I would help someone else. I love being able to help people stay in their homes as long as possible and having the family reassured that their loved ones are being cared for in their absence. My personal achievements that I am proud of are being with two of my clients until the end of their life and knowing that I made things a bit easier for their families. As for myself, I am the mother of four sons and grew up with five older brothers.

I'm a small town country girl, who has always had an interest in health care. While in high school, I volunteered at hospitals and nursing homes. After high school I continued on to Bennett College and studied Biology for about a year. Shortly After returning home I received a job with a home health care facility. Being a nurse has always been the career for me. I'm currently employed part time with ResCare and attending the CNA program, upon completion I intend on going back to school to become a RN (registered nurse).

The reason I became a private caregiver is the more I worked. I could see the joy and their pain disappearing. The client wanted to just be treated with respect and understanding. I have had the pleasure of working with Doctors and medical staff from Emory Johns Creek Hospital and local Primary Doctors. I have 20 years of experience in private home settings.
