I became a certified nursing assistant in May of 2000. I have worked in many specialties in the healthcare field which consists of med-surg, telemetry,Icu,Brain and Injury, Rehab and Pacu. I also worked in Hospice, and home health for 15 years. I am currently working towards Nursing degree.

My best traits as a caregiver is being patience,compassion, attentive, dependable, reliable, flexible, trustworthy. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. I also like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. The thing I like the most being a caregiver is making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. My personal achievement is being able to pursue interesting, high quality work that has a positive impact. Securing awards, promotions and other acknowledgements of achievement. Maintaining a happy and healthy family life as well as career. And handling challenge, complexity and change.

I enjoy working with people and I most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of my elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel I can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don't ever say, "That's not my job" but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I take pride in attending to detail.

I'm a certified nursing assistant with more than 16 years experience in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living and private home setting. I'm well equipped to provide emotional support in a comfortable, soothing environment. I also have advanced knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia. My joy is to help clients with their daily activities like bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, feeding, also assist with transfer and ambulation. I'm also equipped to administer medication, maintained accurate records of patients care, condition, progress and concerns. Also maintained a clean, healthy and safe environment.

I've been in the medical field for over 14 years as a medical assistant, Dialysis technician and an EMT. I've worked with medically fragile children, the elderly and renal failure patients. The reason I become a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of the elderly, sick, and handicapped. What makes me a great caregiver is the opportunity to take care of some great people who need help and appreciate good help. I recently became a certified Death Doula, specializing in personal care for dying patients. A personal achievement I am most proud of is raising my three children with my husband of 37 years. They (children) have grown to become great adults and that's all a parent can ask for.

I have enjoyed being a SR Caregiver for 23 years. I love hearing the stories about their lives. It's heartwarming to know I get to share in the lives of the precious people that put their trust in me to care for them in their elder years.
