I became a caregiver because my mother in law moved in with us a few years back because she was I'll and needed help. I started working with ambercare as her full time caregiver. I enjoyed helping and caring for her very much. It was like I had finally found what I was meant to do. So unfortunately she passed. I continued on as a caregiver. I have worked with many family's in the passing years, with whom I've met lots of great people to care for. Many have become good friends and almost like family. That's what happens when you spend so much time caring for a person, it becomes more personal but on a very professional level. I care about my clients unlike the care you may see in a facility where there are just not enough caregivers to go around. So no one gets that extra special care and attention. I love helping people and I believe everybody deserves to live with dignity and as much independence as they would like.

I am patient and highly compassionate, hard working, flexible, bilingual, trustworthy caregiver, experienced in home and hospital settings. I have been a caregiver for ten plus years and enjoy taking care of people. Over the years I have had many different jobs and only stuck with them for a little while until I got into caregiving. I enjoy taking care of people it gives me a sense of worth and satisfaction in my life. I enjoy meeting new people and making them comfortable and happy when they are ill or not.

In 2007 while still working in the title industry I also started volunteering for Hospice, which I enjoyed very much and still do. I volunteered for Hospice of NM while under different management but took many hours of training which resulted in many patients in companionship. Some of my folks did come off of Hospice but many did not. I was voted by management and personnel as the number 1 volunteer for the organization. After a few years I had to take a break do to my other work schedule then decided to go into caregiving. I am not certified. Only experienced. The need for the elderly or homebound is abundant, now more than ever. I see to many elderly alone and afraid. They need help.

I am a truly caring person who will consider the needs of my clients, as this is my life's work. I have been immersed in this line of work for the right reasons and am willing to be flexible with my hours based on a clients needs. I remain dedicated and preserve each clients wishes and dignity. I truly enjoy my work.

It's always been very important to me to care for all people no matter who they are. Throughout my life I have developed the patience especially when seeking care for a loved ones with Alzheimer's or another type of dementia. Working for facilities and hospitals has given me the right tools/ training to help with other conditions that the elderly face throughout their years. I have been in home care for 26+ years. I did my training in upstate New York. Moved back to New Mexico in the late 90s and have been in home care sense. I love working /assisting people in daily activity's. It gives me pride to see my clients smile and laugh. Means even more to know I helped to for fill their desires of what needs to be done to make each visit a successful pleasant day knowing they will be content to relax everything has been done. Seeing the self accomplishment in their smile is more than a pay check to me. My clients become my friend, and a second family to me. A smile is worth a million words.
