I enjoy being a caregiver, it gives me a chance to help elders and treat them with dignity. Making their lives as comfortable as possible gives me a sense of happiness.

I have been a CNA since 1999. I have worked in Geneva General Hospital, Clifton Springs Hospital, and skilled nursing units. Once I started working in private homes I stayed there. I enjoy giving individualized care, that way I have the time to do my job with care and tenderness.

For some reason I have always had the softest spot for elderly people, or just people with disabilities in general. My parents was 40+ when I was born and I also have a nephew who was born with a rare disorder, so before I even decided to become a certified caregiver I realized that I already was one. I enjoy the work I do because I know how big of an impact my love and affection puts on other people. As an disabled or elderly person, they need the extra love in their life and I decided to be that person, even if it is only for a few hours out the day. Every second matters. My greatest achievement was becoming a CNA, some would go further and want more, but to me it is not about the money. As a LPN, or RN I wouldn't have much 1 on 1 times with my patients as I want and that's not what I want. So being a CNA will allow me to be around them and show them as much care and love as I can.

I am a very patient person who loves to connect with new people. I take care of children during the week so I am used to doing certain tasks more than others. My step father is where my experience comes from, as he is a much older gentleman.

Hello! I've been a CNA for over 7 years now. I also have been doing home care for almost 2 years. I love working in the medical field. I prefer home care over the nursing facilities however. I love the 1 on 1 time I get to spend with my clients.
