Hello! My name is Edyn and I am originally from Altoona, PA. I am currently in my senior year of nursing school at IUP and will be graduating in December of 2020. I plan to become a Labor and Delivery nurse one day after graduation. I am very dedicated to this field and I believe I have a very warm heart. I am empathetic and can truly advocate for my client's health and well-being. I care for each of my clients as I would want my own family to be treated. I have my Bachelors Degree in Nursing and I have 5+ years experience involving nursing home care and hospital care. What attracted you to being a caregiver? I thoroughly enjoy helping people. While working in the nursing home, I was able to create trusting relationships and see improvements in those I took care because they knew they could count on me. Even in the hospital setting, I am able to see how my role as a caregiver can impact others lives even for the short amount of time that they are in our care. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? The relationships that are built and knowing that, even if its a little, my actions are able to help a person live a better life. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I am proud of the family I have built with my husband and going through school to receive my Bachelors Degree. I've been a CNA since 2015, right out of high school. I love every minute of it and would never turn back. I enjoy everything about it, getting to know each person I take care of and knowing I'm helping them in a way some people can't is the greatest feeling ever!

I was raised by my grandparents and help with their care as they got older. I helped to care for my grandmother who had dementia as a companion and later with pallative care. I was present and provided support and comfort to her thru her end of life amd assisted with her post mortem care. I have since worked both in home and nursing home settings providing care to those who primarily had dementia, providing pallative, hospice and post mortem care. I have had great success with calming clients who are combative or aggressive to preform nesscary ADLs. I also have experience with diabetic care and those who are on dialysis including ports. I am a very patient and compassionate person who loves to see someone enjoy a safe and comfortable life.

I have experience working with Elderly and disabled individuals over the span of 8 years 5 of them I've done personal care and provided support for both elderly and disabled individuals.
