I love the interaction, the closeness and the level of respect I can give as an outsider. I have plenty of references. I am skilled with Medicare insurance and DME companies to get supplies so patients don't have to pay out of pocket so they can get what they need to stay home. I have worked with doctors and agencies to get care that is needed. My patients become family and I take care of them as such. I have worked with loved ones that have Alzheimer's, Dementia, ALS, and everything in between. I am very good at my job and I do very much take a lot of stress off the family members. I I am very good at my job and care deeply for the people I take care and treat them as I would my own. I have always made sure I am worth what I make. I am a loving and caring person and I love helping others. I love my job and what it allows me to do for others. I have been on the receiving end of having a loved one get very sick and bounce back and forth from nursing home to hospital so I know all too well not just the physical but the emotional strain that situations like these can have for people and family's. This is why I try my best to help the best I can in any situation. I choose to get into this line of work because unfortunately I had to see first hand with a loved one that not everyone is properly taken care of or even cared about in these situations and that is just awful and unfair. When my loved one passed away I vowed to make a difference, even if its just one person or a small few its better then none or just doing nothing.

I have 30+ years experience in long term care> I have also done 1 1/2 years Hospice care and have also done Home Care. I feel people should be shown respect, and that their dignity is what needs to be on everyone's mind that are caring for that resident! I stumbled into it, first with my mom for 1993 until her passing in 2005 and then recently when a church member who was down on her luck came to live with us because at first we thought it was just for a place to stay. Within weeks we found it to be more. She was suffering from severe emotional trauma that caused her to have pseudo seizures, was suffering with depression, had early signs of dementia, vision loss (legally blind) and loss of hearing plus. She came to stay with us in 2011 and left us in December 2014 after seeing her through to get social security disability and social security supplemental insurance. Further when she came she lost her job due poor work performance and once her severance pay ran out we took care of her and obtained social services for her. I saw to her mental health visits once I got her diagnosed plus ensured she saw all doctor she had, took her meds correctly and made sure she keep as much dependency as possible yet with constant reminders to do what she needed to do. She finally move on into Assistant Living. I am not a CNA nor a nurse but I have done the job. Down through the years my family and I have taken others in who are down on their luck and need a hand up. I find that I care about people..
