I am both a indoors and outside person. What attracts me to this career is the companionship that can be made when helping another. I find it helpful and healthy to communicate with people. I am a very social person and find it easy to interact with people. I enjoy the stories and conversations. This wouldn't be my first time working as a caregiver. During that time being a caregiver i had the responsibilities of transportation, cleaning, and giving my clients their medication. I had worked with several clients with different disabilities. I would stay the night and day for 4 days at house that my clients were at to care for them. One of the major achievements I've made is losing weight. To this day i have become more active and motivated to start a new journey to become a sports physical therapist. One of my goals are to compete in bodybuilding as well. I will complete goal along with my future career.

I got into caregiving as a fluke and instantly fell in love with it and the people that I have been able to help and care for. I've always had interest in the medical field and I learned that caregiving is fairly similar to it, I saw that through caregiving I create a personal connection and that's why I chose caregiving. I enjoy the little moments about caregiving, when a person served says something unexpected and it creates a happy memory/moment for us both. A personal achievement I am proud of is taking first place in bodybuilding competitions, it's the prep that I am most proud of, not quitting when it's hard or when I'm tired.

I am currently a college student at Mendocino College pursuing my goal to become an RN-Registered Nurse. I am a fun spirited individual who loves being around people and making people feel good and or better even when that day may not be a good day for them. Throughout school of wanting to become a nurse I chose to get my CNA license so that I would be able to get more experience within the career path that I have chosen, but throughout my journey of schooling and working at a care home I realized that being there for your patients and assisting them with their ADL's is the best feeling that I could have experienced while being a CNA. A personal achievement I am proud of is accomplishing as much as I have while only being 19 years old and that I am passionate about the things that I do.

Who Am I? My name is Garret and I am a health care professional in my early 20's born and raised in northern California. My time living in nor'cal has only been interrupted once to attend Basic combat training in Oklahoma; because of this I have been known to bond well with veterans and seniors of a 'rural' disposition. It is my hope to enroll in an LVN program next year to pave the way for more opportunities and experience. My desire is to specialize in wound care.
