I am a very compassionate person. I like to laugh and pepole tend to be very comfortable around me. I'm easy going, a hard worker , dependable and enjoy meeting new people . I love working in this field it provides so much joy to help others. I love being able to come alongside families and help them . I value the relationships I build along the way. My goal with my families is to allow them to be completely themselves, to help them in the areas they need help and to do things the way they want it done. When I left the career, I brought one of my clients home to provide him with daily living services until he graduated high school and went off to college. I was a behavioral health case manager for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. I assisted them 8n the areas of housing, finances, mental health, chemical dependency and social supports. During my college years, I worked as a caregiver for Home Instead. The agency allowed our Senior Clients to remain in their home while in recovery or simply struggling with various psychological and or physical disabilities. I love most to help individuals in what area they may need assistance in. A personal achievement I am most proud of is gaining a B.A. while being a single parent.

I am a care giver at heart! I have always been the nurturer of the family. I have 17+ yrs experience with caring for the elderly. 13 of those years specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care. I learned from my previous residents' that it's important to have a sense of humor in this field of work, which I can think I'm a comedian some days! I never knew this work was meant for me until it just fell into my lap one day and was told by many I was a natural. I find it very rewarding seeing my patient's happy, see someone relieved of their pain, or just making that special bond or friendship after earning their trust. Something I have achieved would be staying in this field of work for so many years. There are people that simply aren't capable of doing the "dirty work" that comes with the job title. I can admit sometimes there will be "bad days,"but will always realize that at the end of the day- the good outweighs the bad....
