Hi there. My name is Vanessa. I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy helping others. I am quirky, personable, outgoing, positive, down to earth, eager to learn and grow, and easy to communicate with. I learn quickly.

I am a f. I have worked with the elderly in the past and found it-to be rewarding. I feel I am compassionate and have always enjoyed be around and helping the elderly, I worked in a nursing house for three years when I was younger and did home care and helped take take of my mother before she died.I have also cleaned for the elderly for over 20 years. I am prior military. While attending grossmont college, I was the president of the student veterans organization. I thought it would be a great idea, back in 2008, to have our veterans go into the community and help in assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities. After seeing how short staffed, over worked, under paid, and how these patients felt, I knew I needed to help. My children and I would paint their nails, do their hair, play bingo, assist in sporting events like the, in-house Kentucky Derby, with stick horses, play music, feed them and provide comfort during the holidays, make mobiles for patients one their ceilings, for the ones that could not get out of bed, and provide comfort for so many people that do not have family or friends to visit them.

My life is built around love and compassion. I have worked in healthcare for 17+ yrs, with some of my my most memorable moments in elderly care. I have worked anywhere from, home health, hospice, memory care, assistant administrator, etc. I have spent the last 5 yrs as a stay at home mom raising my children. I love working with our elderly community because they have lived and know a life, we will never know. I love to listen to their history, how they were raised, and see them through different eyes. Laugh and smile with them. They were once young just as you and I.

I`m calm ,kind , patient , gentle , attentive and kind person Love taken care of people when they cannot take care of themselves The joy of seeing them happy ,comfortable and feeling secured. Helping people and putting smiles on other people`s face.

I love the fulfillment I receive by being a care giver. My first job, off the farm, was as a CNA in a retirement home. There I cared for one of several wings full of elderly people all with various levels of need. I have found that working with the elderly and being able to bring stability and comfort to their daily lives, the most rewarding job I've ever had. I take care of elderly couples in their 90's to ensure their life quality at home. Love my references.... Today, my grandma is still living independently in a very large home; at the age of 99; that she has maintained for many years. With some outside help, such as myself, she is able to go on living there instead of a retirement home. I look forward to working with my clients and see how I can make things safe and capable for them. I've also come to realize, that even a person, my own age, can have so many needs too and with just the right person to assist with the activities of daily living, makes all the difference in the world to so many people.

Since leaving school I have always enjoyed being around people, I enjoy helping people and making their days better. My mother had Multiple Sclerosis and I was her carer before she moved into a nursing home. I am able to care for someone needing assistance with their daily activities; be that bathing, grooming, feeding, going to appointments or companionship, and many other things as needed. If you have animals, then that is just fine with me; I love all animals very much.

What makes me an excellent caregiver? I've spent many years working in hospitals and cancer patients, physicians offices, nursing homes, and private home care. The many teams I've worked with and amazing patients with so many varied needs have only strengthened my desire to care for others! I treat people as I would want to be treated...it really is that simple. Kindness, compassion, humor, experience, courage and strength are what I bring to every job.

I started caregiving at 19 in California i worked at a active living retirement community. I loved hearing anything anyone had to say. I met people who still had their tattoo from concetration camp. Hitler I met people who fled from all sorts of the world to be here. I respect my elders and take every word of wisdom they give me as a privilege to hear. I am the oldest of 7 siblings and i have always been the nurturer in my family. I have a lot if experience from over the years. I have also obtained a certificate for working in Respite care. For young adults and children with developmental Disabilities. I can also work with quads ect. And people with Addictions. I can work in a facility or privately.
