Hi my name is Gina, I am a CERTIFIED NURSE AID (CNA) of 15 years. I have experience in working in nursing homes, private care, hospice, assisted living and as a traveling Cna as well. What helps me be a great caregiver is helping out families with their loved ones. I love helping out my residents, I help them with every day living needs. I'll keep you company and protect you while under my care. What made me want to become a Cna was when I was a teen, I was working at a facility as a housekeeper and my Aunt was a resident at facility I worked at. My Aunt was blind so she would put the call light or yell for help, well as a housekeeper I was told that we are not to assist residents only can wheel them into dinning room. Well I was mopping down a hall way across from where my aunt would stay and I seen her call light blinking, so I said to myself well the Cna will get it soon. I went back to mopping, I'm down a diff hall now and I still see her light on and I hear her yelling, so I tell the nurse and they said they be there in a bit, nurse went out to smoke and I can still hear her calling out for help. Well I was busy doing my job, next thing I know I see that paramedics rushing into her room and so I left what I was doing and went to see why paramedics went to her room. I come up to her room and what I saw made me run out and call my mother which was her sister. I was soooo furious, what I saw was the EMT guy giving her cpr she was on the floor with blood everywhere and she passed away. I was so upset with the nurses, that if only they would have taken 5 mins out there time to answer that call light or answer her yelling for help she would be here. So after all this passes I told myself I was going to take the Cna class and be a better caregiver than they we're showing me that day. I don't like to ignore light or call for help. I want to be there to protect them, some residents don't have anyone, we as a caregiver are their family. I listen, I love, I help, I care

My name is Maricela Jimenez I am 29 years old and a mother of 6 wonderful amazing children. I do have a child who is deceased. She is also one of the reasons I wanted to help people more. My pregnacy you was complicated my daughter was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 while i was pregnant and was not expected to survive but as Months had past i gave birth to a beautiful 4lb 3 oz baby girl and still wasnt expected to live as doctors kept suggesting to me. She was Referred to the n.i.c.u after a couple days I was overwelmed with the decision i had to make for my daughter. Even though I prepared my mind for what was expected to come. I gave my daughter a real fighting chance took her home on hospice. I was taught on everything i need to do as tube feeding medical supplies, medications. I gave my Daughter a chance of having so much love around her something she would have never felt being in the n.i.c.u fighting. My grandparents were also sick and I attended to them and everything they needed. I learned how to give medications And give shots as recemended when they struggled to do so. The 3 people in my life taught me that anything can happen. Some as well as others try to fight when they are sick and even though they try to tell the are leaving. They want you to understand its not that they are giving up. They are tired and wanna rest they want you to know you are loved. I was taught to have patientice when someone is sick whether its a small cold to to being diagnosed with a uncontrollable disease to having cancer. I had always studied to be a nurse but I found out with even though i have a big heart I love helping others. You always learn something new or make a new friend who may become like family. Patients cant control what happens to themselves and cant control what others cant understand. Its people like me who help fight for those who cant and thats what im willing to do be there when they need me help them as much as i can.

Like working with elderly . As a caregiver I enjoy spending time with them.
