When I was applying for different kind of jobs (manufacturing, warehouse) where I had more than 15 years experience, I was offer a position as caregiver of a lovely 90 years old lady, we got along since the first moment and became her part time cg. I found out that I have that special touch so much needed when working with elderly. I treat them with respect. I know it must not be easy losing your independence and if at home, seeing "strangers" coming into your house and practically take control over your stuf. That's why I like asking them (when posible) how they like things being done in their house.

Helping them with thier everday life . I just like helping others . I worked as a caregiver for 5-6 year now I took a break in the middle of those year worked with customer service ! Although it can be great job I rather works with senior . A job we're you don't stress as much. Dealing with customer services isn't something I wish to deal with . I feel like working with senior to sale are 2 very different things . And I enjoy my job as a caregiver.!My personal goal is to work very hard to save up and travel befor I start my own family .

Hello..first off I want to express my belief and reasons for why I'm in this field. People of all ages need assistance. .whether it be temporary or permanent. I have been there when it has come to having babies (they grown now) after surgery, or a long time position of assistant. I love what I do, I have compassion for the hurting and patience. I have references for that :) I'm a License massage therapist that believes even touch heals. Whether young or old. I have sense of humor..don't mind in repeating myself a million times ( that's the patience I have ) when it comes to alziemers Love to stay busy,love to read,LOVE TO COOK, I am a believer In Jesus Christ! my children are grown now,I am a grandma..I schedule my time with my family on my daysoff. Prefer to be on a consistent schedule so it doesn't cause confusion to my client or outside life. Dependable..never late ( I have proof from clients :) ) And can be in most cases..flexible. I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I always go the extra not just one mile but two miles just to make any client happy meaning making sure they're needs are always being met from the smallest task to a task that's challenging for them to do that they used to do. I am a happy person, have a genuine heart, trustworthy, punctual, honest, great listener, responsible, reliable, and I am a maximize. I am a self-starter if I know what's expected. I will always do things that the clients tell me I don't have to. I have the compassion, understanding; having the patience make a difference in your interaction with the client because they can feel a caregivers energy, and I personally always put out positive energy despite what mood the client may be in. You can always turn a negative interaction into a positive one just by being understanding and empathetic towards their situation. I would also make an awesome caregiver because I always put myself in their situation. I became a caregiver because I love helping the elderly and I have a compassionate heart towards them. Giving back to the elderly community due to understanding that as people age things become more challenging when it comes to getting things done, I want to make it easier on the clients that may not always have someone to assist them and make it a little easier for them to accomplish a task. Also, clients have may not someone to talk to and or eat with, etc.. and they just want a companionship, and I can be that companion for them. What I like about being a caregiver is that the clients are sweet, funny, have a sense of humor, the clients families are supportive and helpful, I like building that report with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is when a client request me and misses me when I am not there; this tells me I have built that report and I've made a positive impact on that client.
