I became a certified nursing assistant in May of 2000. I have worked in many specialties in the healthcare field which consists of med-surg, telemetry,Icu,Brain and Injury, Rehab and Pacu. I also worked in Hospice, and home health for 15 years. I am currently working towards Nursing degree.

I recently left my position full time for a major dialysis company in downtown Baltimore and have been in healthcare for a while and started working for Catholic Charities in May 2017, part time on the weekends. I am hoping to start nursing school fall 2017 and would prefer to work overnight Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday but I have open availability and flexibility with my schedule. My personal achievements that I'm honestly most proud of are my children. I am a Certified Nursing Assitant and Cettified Medication Technician through the Maryland Board of Nursing. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is it helps me greatly and gives me the courage to take care of my son who is autistic. I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

I have compassion for people and i have firsthand experience. I have my son who is 25 and autistic and still lives with me putting him in a home is not an option. I understand that people always choose to stay in their homes over a nursing home. I love people and my goal is making them comfortable and happy.
