Hi! I was turning 18 and I was told I needed to work that my schooling was over....Immediately I started searching for a job that gave me flexibility and helped others....so I was a first female Chicago Firefighter....I then moved back to Calif. and put myself through school to become a nurse....I did 10 years in the emergency room, then home health, hospice, pediatrics special needs, elderly. I like to think fast on my feet and I became pretty good at nursing....I gain respect from the doctors that I have worked with for my ability to describe the need a patient has even if it's immediate......I am a cheerful, responsible, giving individual that would help thoses who ask..

I became a caregiver because my aunt was diagnosed with a brain disease. At a young age I began taking care of her. I made her meals, helped bathe her and made sure she took her medication. Once I hit my teenage years my great grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia. It was me responsibility to take care of her after school until bed time. This is when I truly fell in love with care taking. My dad then graduated from college and became an Executive Director or retirement communities. My family used to visit him and work. The communities he has worked for have had an incredible impact on myself. In my early 20's I worked in an assisted living community and took care of a quadriplegic man. My passion only grew as the years weld went on. I truly have a passion for caretaking and getting to know people.

I started caregiving at the age of 12 and loved it so much I have continued. What makes me great at caregiving is I not only make it a point for my clients to be physically ok but menatly and emotionaly as well. I want my clients to stay in their home as long as possible and their happiness is important to me. I view everyone as family and I do everything I can to ensure they are treated as such.

My goal is to I really just want to be of service to those in need in my community and bring a loving, patient, genuine kind attitude into others lives. It is in my nature to help others and I'm a natural healer with a big heart. I have experienced traumatic situations in my life that allows me to be compassionate and understanding. I truly believe in making a difference in the world. My goal is to gain as much experience in caring for others as possible and when I feel I'm ready, I want to become a foster parent for as many children as they will allow. It is our duty as a community to care for each other especially the elderly whom have cared for so many during there life and so many of us forget this which creates unhealthy situations for the elderly needing care. Respect is not always taught to the younger generations and we need to be respectful to others and the environment we inhabit. I am good at listening and doing what is asked of me to the best of my ability, as well and seeing what needs to be done and doing it efficiently and effectively. I am grateful for any opportunity to be of service to others needs. I'm certified as a caregiver and assisted living manager. I'm a fast learner and can adapt to any situation with ease. My heart is pure and genuine.

I understand what the patient and the family are going through and help ease the difficulties of caring for most conditions of illness and aging for both patient and family members. I became a caregiver after seeing how a family member was treated at a local facility so learned everything I could about the caregiving field and how best to help the patient with dignity and respect. Working as an on call caregiver I have those I take care of ask if I would be the full time caregiver. Because I was also a Dietary Manager taking care of nutrition, hydration, and choices is as important as anything else. It doesn't matter how much care a patient gets, if they don't eat, they don't recover well.
